But seriously, don't take it so personal Kavish, the judges didn't eliminate you because of the length of your entry or the quality of your avi, mine was probably the lowest quality avi out of everyone and I was fine. It's just their personal opinions. All the best
Avatars serve many functions on ATRL which is why it's an entire episode on Top Member. While I didn't grade entirely on the quality, it played a slight factor. I actually graded usefulness as one of the top points because in hit threads people look to avatars for their posts. For example, Addicted's may be LQ, but the concept of walking away could be used in a post. Likewise, Kavish's avatar could be used in a "DEAD" post when replying to something shocking. So, the avatars themselves did count, but not nearly as much as the explanation of them. This couldn't have been a surprise. Even during episode 1 people were commenting on theo's and kitt's avatars.
Kitt typed quite a long write-up as well, but hers was formatted neatly as per her brand and her avatar is just more useful. Not just because it has a pop star.
Edge, please don't. You said you were harshest on me, yet I took something from it anyway. And especially considering my record now, I'm expecting you to do be just as ruthless (if not more), yet applicable as I climb the ascent towards Top Member. I'm going to feel ROBBED if I get anything less than a quick jab from you.

Exactly. It wouldn't be as authentic. I need your sharp judging as much as I need the other judges to judge the way they do. The experience as I approach the top wouldn't be the same.
Glad you found some value in my comments. You're doing great!

Thank you for pointing this out, I also need to work on presenting myself via my brand of intelligence in my entries.
All in all, thank you judges for the feedback. Your comments were mostly positive and I'm grateful and happy for that, but I definitely need to tweak a few things in my entries and I'll be well on my way.
You're headed in the right direction. Good job in this last challenge!

The explanation was meant to embellish the entry, but your avi itself is what the challenge was most about. How does it stand out to others on atrl with no explanation? That's why so much focus was put on the avi itself by certain judges. I did also consider your description, though.

I think my fellow judges and I had a different criteria for the ranking. I placed a lot more value on the contestants' explanations (the difficult part of the challenge) than on the actual avi itself. Anyone could have made an HQ avi and used that for the challenge.
But this is why we have multiple judges to weigh in.
Absolutely! That's the beauty of judges, they don't agree on everything.
