There was no formatting, and your avi was not included. Your avi is what stood out to me this round, work on crafting a better-rounded entry in the next challenge, because I have faith you're getting through.

Like you said most have avatars of celebrities, shirtless guys, music videos, or pics. Yours is still a motion avatar but it’s different and stands out. I applaud you for not wanting to change it. Your username without that avatar would just look weird. Run with it, it helps you stand out as a member which is important for a top member.

As much as I love the Wizard of Oz and the iconic "Off to see the wizard" skip, I felt your avi was too dark. The Wizard of Oz was one of the first films to feature widespread use of color (as opposed to black and white, like the film's opening and closing sequences). Your avi being dark took away a lot of that color, which made it forgettable, especially among some of the more colorful avis submitted in this challenge. I would definitely like to see you make the next round, but you'll need to make sure you place heavy focus on crafting an entry that won't be forgotten.

Your story is lovely and extremely touching. Its memories like those that keep a family connected and a strong connection at that. I also enjoyed how it suits you on ATRL and how you would wear it with pride. My only concern is, it’s very dark and can easily blend in. If you could find a brighter clip of the movie, it would work better. I can also see it being used as a gif if bigger.

-A unique avi doesn't necessarily mean that it stands out amongst the others but I did appreciate that you incorporated examples where others did use your avi to relate their posts back to you.
-I don't understand why you went in depth into the whole HQ/LQ debate and ultimately discrediting someone else's choice of avi. If it meant something to them, then power to them. This reminds me of that thread that asked whether or not you judged someone if they didn't have an HQ avi and it seems like you do.
-I would have much preferred you to elaborate on your personality in relation to you avi. Saying Katy smiling signifies your positive personality isn't enough. And based on your recent posts in certain threads, a smiling pika is the last thing on other members' minds.

As cute as the Katy avi is, I'm not sure it really brings forth much emotion in me. But that's just me... It seems as though some of your fellow atrl sistren have taken a liking to it, and that's something to speak toward. I like that you made an effort in formatting your entry, I just feel as though you spent lots of time on things less relevant than why your avi stands out most itself. You gave 3 HQ avis (none of which were your current one) and compared them to 3 LQ avis (again, none of which were your current one). Make sure your future entries are a little more focused and you'll do well. But, like I'm telling a lot of the other competitors who didn't make my top 3, start figuring out how you're going to become a standout.

The banner is cute, quite big, but cute. I also liked how you provided receipts on why it is unique, especially to Katy stans, and how people use it. You know you have a pretty popular avatar when people use it in posts. However most of the time it is shading the poster. Especially. if it doesn’t make sense in the post. You had a purpose for the avatar and that it not only represents you, but can also be used on ATRL. A negative to your entry is that I got bored. The HQ part to your entry was unnecessary in my opinion. There are well known avatars that are just single imaged avatars, for example, Lee. An HQ avatar does give a better quality, but not necessarily needed to stand out.

-The first two paragraphs should have been merged together. In fact, the second paragraph could have been boiled down to two, maybe one sentence. Your thought process makes sense but it shouldn't take that much backstory for one to understand why your avi stands out/means that much to you
-Your third paragraph, easily my favorite personal account from the bunch, was everything. You made it so relatable, so easy to understand that your entry could have been just this plus a few sentences on your gymnast avi and it would have been perfect.
-Strange thing about your entry. It felt concise but there was an underlying sense of lethargy. Your third paragraph evoked emotions out of me but that victory was dampened by the slug like pace of your intro. Focus on capturing your audience with your entry as a whole, then you should be a force to be reckoned with. Too bad the other contestants can't knock you out.

Moreover, the quality could be better. Even if all of that was fixed, I don't think this avatar would stand out too much to me. It's just not that visually interesting. Maybe a different, more dynamic shot or something. But I like you!

I got more intrigued when getting to the part why it was your avatar. From the quote your mama would tell you to the bolded colored words representing you and here, sold it for me. I wouldn’t say the avatar would necessarily stand out, for its slow and kind of far away, but the meaning behind it makes it stand out. Comparing this entry from this exact challenge last cycle, this one was better.

I've never had anyone use frames from videos that I've have used. Also, what is this "ghetto baby" avatar you're talking about? You might have been exposed to it but others might not have. This is where you think ahead like a Top Member should and hyperlink "ghetto baby" to the actual avi.
-"While this may not seem significant in the least to most" was nothing but a hanging statement. You should have expanded on why it was significant to YOU. This challenge is about YOU and YOUR avi. It was your chance to share a part of you with us and all you managed to do was make sweeping generalizations and they don't really hold water without an argument.

In a side-by-side comparison, your avi stood out most to me. It's simple, yet mysterious. It distinguishes you without you feeling the need to try hard. I also like that in your explanation you pointed out the overabundance of music video avis. To me, those have less personality and seem more like simple stanning and/or bandwagoning (depending on the video). You could have included your avi in the entry and put in a bit more effort in formatting your entry. Remember, your entry itself is part of your brand, your package. What are you selling to us? What do you want us to buy?

It’s very sleek and very classy looking. However, like what Pika mentioned in his entry, it’s not one of those avatars that one could easily get the direct link for and then use it as a gif. But that’s not your purpose from your entry and I respect that.

-Your clip has "Leggo" in it, which makes Chris Brown stans seem not as bad as everyone is making them out to be? I don't quite follow the logic.
-I appreciate the usage of a Chris avi and the very brief mention of how you were unique in 2011 by being one of the only ones to have a Chris avi but I honestly wouldn't have known that was Chris if it wasn't for you.
-Side note: The lucky charm line was very cleverly in a different color but considering it was a lucky charm, I would have thought green was a better choice, followed by a instead of a .

I commend you for using an avi that's important to you, but it could be interpreted as a little self-indulgent to use it as a "good luck charm." Part of this competition is evolving to stand out from your peers. I don't think you had a terrible avi by any stretch, but I also don't feel it stood out as much as you'd hoped it would. I have no hard feelings toward Chris Brown stans, and I think you have the potential to stand out more than you currently are. Be a bit more calculated in your approach to the competition. After all, it is a competition.

When I first saw your entry and saw you changed your avatar back to the Chris Brown avatar, I was like “oh no, Katie is not going to have it.” I was surprised to read that she turned the other cheek and didn’t judge based on the artist (yes she turned in her comments beforehand and I read them). As for the avatar, it does stand out because of the color Yellow and the word Leggo; that kind of rhymed. I also appreciate the purpose in wanting to change the opinion on some of ATRL’s minds about Chris Brown stans.

Having your avatars on shuffle isn’t “unacceptable”, it is just that if you have an entry with multiple avatars while everyone has one that makes for a long entry. The whole purpose of this challenge is to see who has the better avatar that stands out on ATRL. If you are constantly changing your avatars in like a weekly rotation, you begin to lose attention. Sometimes, besides your name, the avatar is what makes you stand out as a member and make you memorable. I didn’t mean to be the bear of bad news with that message, but that’s just the way it is with this challenge. As for your avatar, I love it. I use to have that particular scene as my avatar once myself. Lydia is a true bad bitch and the only ginger I’d procreate with, talking about Holland there for a second. Your avatar does stand out because it’s in your face and something is literally being blown in to your face.

I love the reasoning behind choosing your avi, but I feel you could have chosen one that truly encompassed the meaning you draw from it. You may be in danger this round. If you get through, please try harder to stand out. I have been saying that to a lot of contestants this round. You have the drive and the passion, just figure out how to channel that into inspiration and innovation in your entries.

I really liked your story with the avatar and it makes sense, despite me never having watched a single episode of the show. It exemplifies you and ultimately is pretty much ATRL. -The best part about your entry is how you aspire to become more like your role model. Many members use an avi just for the aesthetics (I'm guilty of that too from time to time) but to use a pic of your fav as an avi just to inspire you is pretty awesome.

However it does not stand for McDonald’s, but at least with the brand struggle you should be heading in this direction. “I hope to someday acquire some key aspects from and somehow emulate”, why not try starting now. I mean Ciara became who she is today, with the aspects you admire, from working from the bottom to the top. As for your avatar, it is a risk. Most avatars now-a-days are motion, but yours is a still. Though a risk it stands out because it gives a break from all the motion avatars.

However, I do commend you on tackling serious subject matter. Some of the best avis are ones that provoke thought and inspire discussion. I don't feel as though your entry stood out too much, and it was very lengthy, but you put a lot of time and effort into it. It's funny that you ask that because I almost included something about it in my submission. I think I've had one or two people ask me who he is, and they were genuinely curious, not just in some explicit way The rest were actually negative comments on his looks, and whenever I post in "Rate The Avatar" people just say stuff like "8 because the puppy is cute"
OMG Matty & Katie. I had no idea my brand came out in it - actually, I thought it was a little TOO noticeable that it wasn't apparent and I'd get docked points. And the Judy plug came in after.

I wanted to give background of my avatar's in general (first paragraph), then explain the avi's origin (second), then it's connection (latter). But good idea, if I'd went with this, it would have made it a bit shorter and eliminated Matty's only negative in his critique. Thanks!
