But IASF came out 2008 tho. TBH, Beyonce helped usher in the pop radio dominance. Now look every black mainstream artist now sends 2 singles to radio one for Pop one for Urban. Beyonce started that.

It really has nothing to do with it being R&B ( for me anyway), I actually love JT's album. It's R&B but it has modern sound it sounds fresh. With 4 it had that old school vibe to it throwback-ish.

Is the use of "uh oh"s one of Beyonce's signature sounds?

She uses variations of them in Crazy in love [uh oh, uh oh], Single Ladies [wuh uh oh], Schoolin' Life [uh oh, uh oh wuh uh oh oh], Green Light [uh uh uh uh] and that's all I can remember right now.

So is this her thing or do lots of artists do this and I just don't notice as much?

It was both retro and modern all at once. Much like Solange's True. It has very obvious vibes from the past but in a way that is elaborated upon. However songs like Countdown, RTW, End of Time, I Miss You, I Was Here and I Care all sound very individual from today's music and the past's music.

I think Beyonce said that her new album is going to be the same way, no? Bring back some 90s feelings?

4 had a very 70's, 80's & 90's ish sound to it. DIL was R&B was the most part, but it was modern and sounded fresh.

All I know is that for me, the week or two where we got videos for Freakum Dress, Get Me Bodied, Suga Mama, Green Light, Upgrade U, Beautiful Liar, Kitty Kat, Flaws and All and Kissing You is the greatest moment for a stan in Beyonce era history.

Not to mention how revolutionary it was to do that.

Wait you think Get Me Bodied and I Was Here are bad? (And I'd add in Video Phone but I know that a lot of people dislike it). Mostly I'm shocked at Get Me Bodied. It's such a good song to dance to.
