Yeah it will be. We'll definitely know when it's coming. I expect the internet to shut down for real.

I hope it's not.

So? Did she do anything wrong? She went on the studio and recorded a fun song in the vein of "Diva". The fact that people over-analyze her songs is not her fault. You act like she walked naked in the street or killed an infant.
And musically, I'd rather have these type of songs than some Ave Maria/If I Were A Boy/75% of I Am side disaster.

Bey made it very clear that she does not care in Life Is But A Dream, did she not? She is done being nice. I personally don't see anything wrong with the song and it's in no way contradicting her dedication to female empowerment. A strong and humble woman lashing back at hating ass celebs who have been talking down on her for years. That surely empowers me. And the fact that people (surprisingly, mainly females [Keyshia being one of these]) automatically associates the term "bitch" with being a female... What does that say?
And the fact that some think she actually wants them to get on their ashy knees and bow to her when she's clearly using that as a metaphor. Bow Down = give me the respect I deserve. She has earned the right to make songs like this. I do not care how "highly people think of her" ... If you don't like it, you don't like it and that's fine. Leave it at that.
A hit dog will holler.

But this is the type of stuff most of you bash Rihanna and other artists for, so how is it good for one artist but not for others. Me, personally it's not that serious, but I can see it from both sides. She is a role model, lil girls look up to her. I get addressing the haters, but she usually does it in a tasteful way. Beyonce doesn't have to that. The Talent speaks alone.

Also, the media is reporting it like she's saying "I'm the queen everyone bow down", but that's not it at all. She's specifically talking about those that disrespect her. Unfortunately, the media chose to run with the "Beyonce thinks she's better ********" (although she is better ), when that's not what the song was about. But oh well, as soon as that next hit drop they'll be back to kissing her ass. By the way, I got the songs on repeat. At least we have something for the moment and if nothing else, Bey has proven she is spontaneous, so we could have the real first single any minute now.....(hopefully today), LOL.

I don't think alot of people care about the lyrics, they just think the songs are either bad or she is bigger than songs like that.

Oh the media is reporting that Bey says she is better? Aww I just love it.
What a way to take lyrics' content ****ing literally. I guess they also think Bey asked anyone to smack a chick.

That is understandable though, I totally respect that. I know most people don't get those Hip Hop kinda songs and prefer a more polished RnB/pop sound, I'm actually surprised by the numbers of people who liked it here on Atrl.

Artists acting "ratchet" (everything that falls under it) or feeling themselves. When other artists say their the sh*t, it becomes a issue (maybe not with you), but with others it does. If we're going let it slide with one, the same should go for others.
Beyonce doesn't need to do this, the talent speaks alone, the reason why ppl respect and love her. I can see why some people are disappointed at this record. She's too big and too damn talented of an artist to make songs like this.

Case in point, Tamar first said she wanted to be like Bey, then turned around and said she faked a pregnancy. Wendy Williams took shots. The media covered the National Anthem like it was the most important story all year. The world made fun of her SB pics and bashed LIBAD after she went through the trouble of giving us more insight and letting down her guard. So I have no problem with Bey putting the lessors in their place in Bow Down. She didn't name names and it's to the haters, so they media should only be up in arms if it applies to them, afterall a hit dog will holla. Others cuss people out on twitter daily, but as soon as Beyonce vents it's a national problem. She'll drop an international mainstream hit and they'll be back to loving her again and if they're not whatever, I'll still rep her.

It is interesting that everything Beyonce does is teared apart and criticized to pieces. She is not controversial, and yet everything becomes almost a controversy. Imagine if she actually tried to be controversial? Geez.
But I don't really think this song wiill do her much harm. If people are angry it's because they expect and want Beyonce to be a certain way. They'll eat it up once she gives them a softer song. This is laying the ground work for her. Lots of talk and buzz and possibly negative criticism, leading to positive talk (I hope). The same thing happened with the Inauguration / The Superbowl. It all worked out.

Making a song like this is controversial don't even try it. And with the Inauguration/The Superbowl she didn't bring that on herself, but with this record she's def bringing/brought it on herself.

I don't get why acting "ratchet" is such a good thing, when it's nothing to be proud of. This GEN is so lost.

I know she didn't bring the inauguration on herself (aside from the fact that it was her choice to use the pre-recorded track). But it still played out with the "is she going to do it?" card like this is. Isn't everyone even more interested in what her new song will be now that they've heard this than even before?
And a song like this is controversial in some respects, but really its just a very overly confident song. It's not like she said names, or used profanities that aren't common on primetime television. And whether or not we agree that this song is controversial, to me it doesn't seem forced or that it's trying to be controversial. It's not Madonna releasing a sex book or protesting a war or Britney Spears stripping onstage or Rihanna releasing a song with Chris Brown about having sex. It's just a more in-your-face style of many songs she's made before with the same idea (Ego, Upgrade U, Back Up, etc.).

Not at all. People are really making a big deal over the lyrics. They're saying stuff like "Oh, she thinks she's God" or "I only bow to God" or "What a hypocrite telling people to bow down when she's always preaching about female empowerment (as if there is any connection)" etc etc. If people don't like the song in general because they think it's bad then that's completely fine. Different strokes for different folks, right?

Everything she does is a big deal. Funny how people like Kanye get away with stuff like that all the time
I don't know about you guys but I'm loving the songs and all the controversy people are trying (and failing) to create over it.
