You make completely valid points here. The only question I have is what happens if cops (regardless of skin color) stop going into the neighborhoods at all? What happens when no one cares to try to prevent the bad from happening anymore? What happens when innocent people end up the victims of their neighbors' lifestyles? It's a double-edged sword. It's not just black and white at the end of the day. Even black, hispanic, and asian cops are in these neighborhoods.

As for the life experiences, humans have will, whereas sharks act based on natural instinct. There are plenty of kids who grow up in those same neighborhoods who avoid the pitfalls. How they do it... who knows? But the fact that they do is a testament to human will.

There is racism that is more discreet and overarching than that that affects us all on a grander scale.

Why were the police undercover tho?

For all we know the kid may have been afraid for his life with two grown men in an UNMARKED car following him at 11:51 pm. That's not fair. I doubt he would have aimed the gun had he known they were police.

I can't put fault on anybody, but the police needed to be more transparent.
