"When I Was Your Man" is not about female empowerment. (Or even of a tween, for that matter. But I guess you're pressed of his UNIVERSALLY appealing voice.) It's a personal ballad of a love lost and the regret that he feels for not treating the girl as he should've. Not a lot of current songs out there whose theme is similar, that's why many a sensitive hooligan can relate to this.
You guys are mad because Bruno is selling more than any of your faves. He's shipping albums and singles so effortlessly, I know it must make you guys mad. Chill out, start crying when Moonshine gets released and goes #1 for more than 8 weeks.

the sincerity Bruno puts in the song is beyond amazing and you can feel his regret by not treating her lady the way he should and i think everybody can relate to it
I'm surprised. She's never been such a strong digital seller. I guess since its receiving huge airplay it has been able to stabalise
Yeah she was a decent digital seller, GYHAB is the only song that didn't sell much because of the timing etc but all of her previous efforts has sold really well without radio support.
I guess I find Stay to be simple and beautiful. The chorus is really memorable. When I Was Your Man isn't bad at all, I just don't find it to be anything worth noting in Bruno's discography.

This is Bruno's Teenage Dream/Bad era so people need to except that now because Unorthodox Jukebox is the #1 album this week. Locked Out Of Heaven hit #1. When I Was Your Man will hit #1. And then he has so many amazing songs that could all hit #1 if released, Moonshine, Treasure, Natile, Gorilla, and If I Knew!!! There's a reason this album is selling so well and the people need to take a seat or bow down tbh
