and the songs that are covered more mean nothing to be..or acclaim. I pay more attention what song is used more by the GP rather than critics/what's covered on YT/performance shows.

grammys arent voted by critics, theyre voted by the music industry peers. I dont know if this automatically changes the perception of things, but being respected by your peers is a big deal.

I don't think you understand the IMPACT of 200 MILLION people watching your whole video for 4 minutes, then 20 people who try to call themselves "experts" watching it.

As much as ya'll hype them, they're no different than the average music listener.

as a musician i would wanna get something physically out of my work. When i'd look back on my career i wouldn't want to have some forgettable hit singles knowing most of the people who bought it haven't listened to it in years or may even have deleted it...

Maybe Sir Georg Solti was a genius in interpreting symphoincal music, his tape of the Ring is the most known interpretion of Richard Wagner's music.

Maybe without Quincy Jones MJ hadn't win most of his Grammys. Maybe Alison Kraus is one of the most respected musican in the Bluegrass and Folk scene Robert Plant and ADELE adores her.

Pierre Boulez did revolutionize after the War the classical music and was in Bayreuth the conducter of the "Jahrhundert Ring"

Maybe Vladimir Horowitz was the best piano player of the last century. He was so different from us human beings that after his daughter died he didn't left his house for the next 15 Years without playing piano without hearing any music and then to come back on the stage to left the audiance in awe and tears for his last 20 years.

Damn, some people should educate themself.

1. Most people including me don't know who Richard Wagner is, so does it matter?
2. I've never heard of Bluegrass, and 2 musicians respecting you is not very far for 27 Grammy's.
3. I don't even understand that, nor does 95% of people.
4. Cute fact, but what influence does he have now to anyone who doesn't play the Piano and probably has to know about him?

A group of people is not going to make my career, sell my album (for more than the weke of Grammy's), get me concerts, tours, etc.

But America is, so what would be the point of 18 Grammy's? I've shown you all a list of people w/ way more than that and still have almost no relevancy today.
