Catch Ke$ha on the cover of Billboard for the month of March 2013!
Ke$ha recently stopped by Billboard to do a track-by-track description for her newest album, Dreamer.
Alongside Ke$ha's track-by-track is a short description of each track by Billboard, as well.
Quote:
Ke$ha's newest album, Dreamer, is certainly a unique one to keep on eye on this year. Jam-packed full of catchy hits from our dearest party-girl rockstar, you can definitely find many new tracks to lose your mind and dance to. Ke$ha's smash hit, Afterparty (which peaked at #2 for two weeks, faring against insane debuts) is one of these newest dance jams, alongside the newer tracks 'Wild' which features Snoop Lion, and multiple more as well. But what Dreamer provides for the star is a shock to many casual Ke$ha listeners - vulnerability, soaring vocals, deep ballads and love songs. We reeled in Ke$ha to discuss her new album as well as a track-by-track overview.
Dreamer
"Dare to dream, be obscene; be whatever you wanna be" Billboard: This opening track could not be more of a surprise. Seeming to have picked up where Ke$ha's debut album's title track, Animal, left off, the slow-but-sure build-up paves a concrete pathway into a huge, intense and beloved chorus. Ke$ha seems to toy with your traditional 'hit' structure with this track, going from verse to... another verse... to chorus, rapping, chorus, verse, bridge, bridge 2.0. A beautiful, testy title track it is.
Ke$ha: I wanted to make this song something special. I wanted to make this song a beautiful one; not just how it sounds, but in the unique and bizarre structure. I'm very happy with the result, this one's for all my animals - dare to dream, be obscene!
Wild (featuring Snoop Lion)
"Go wild, get rough; don't stop 'til you've had way too much" Billboard: Great for a Friday night, and not something you'd totally have expected Ke$ha to be behind. It's like a Ciara and Britney mash-up track. And the Snoop Lion feature does nothing but add to the expansive bass-dance explosiveness Ke$ha serves with this song. A regular jam; and that's expected from Ke$ha.
Ke$ha: It's wild. I wanted to make a wild jam, with a wild guy [laughs]... the music scene needed something wild right now. The music on the radio now is amazing, I love Mariah and Rihanna's new songs, I constantly have them on repeat. It's all great, but this one's for the freaks.
Flying High
"We're fly-ing hiiiiigh, you and I, together, rip apart the sky" Billboard: A real slab of Ke$ha's raw vocals are more emphasized than ever. The soaring pre-chorus leads straight into the sickest kind of complextro breakdown (varying each refrain) and we're just dancing when it hits. Like Afterparty's little hyper sister; a Supernatural meets Wherever You Are kind of anthem.
Ke$ha: I wrote this on one of the best nights of my life. I really wanted to capture that kind of feeling, raw happiness and pure energy; the greatest feeling in the world. I felt like I was flying above the world and could do anything. I just needed to compress it all into a song. The breakdown is my favorite, I just love it. LOVE IT.
Afterparty
"I'm only gettin' started, catch me at the after party" Billboard: A song seemingly about Ke$ha's career, yet a massive party at the same time. It's interesting. And it works very well. The explosive percussion and out-of-control synth chords are so incredibly addictive! A hard track to ignore when it comes on, it gets everybody dancing.
Ke$ha: I really needed to make an epic jam about me but disguise it as something else. The 'after party' is basically always. People are saying I've faded and what not. I wanted to try and prove them wrong... across a big ass bop!
Oh $hit
"Oh ****, I'm that bitch, every little hater havin' hissy fits, don't give a ****!" Billboard: This f**k-off-haters track has to be one of the best done in recent years. Over a dubstep-influenced chorus, Ke$ha screams "OH $HIT!" and followed by setting down a flow sicker than many rappers. We see Sleazy meeting Grow A Pear meeting Warrior. She didn't play around with this one; children, cover your ears!
Ke$ha: I was just having fun with this [laughs], I hope y'all enjoy it. I love these kinds of songs, sometimes they really just need to be done. I feel like I'm taking a big (oh) $hit! whenever I sing it! [covers face, giggling]
Take My Hand
"Take my take my hand, and I'll bring you where you've never never been" Billboard: We just want to say that this song in between 'Meow' and 'Oh $hit' is the silliest placement that could have occurred. A massive jam of love is like Wherever You Are meets Til The World Ends meets We R Who We R. It's got the most catchy, angelic chorus and a candy-coated bridge that's undeniably ear-soothing. A precious album cut.
Ke$ha: I started singing this out of nowhere to a guy I met in Australia. I love Australia. But yeah, it just came to me, and I wrote it down the next morning. It's really dear to my heart, this song. I hope all my animals like it and can relate. I know they will.
Meow "Meow, I'll show you how, you've got to meow, to get my love" Billboard: This song, purely dedicated to Ke$ha's over-the-edge love for cats, is definitely a cute one... until the breakdown. You expect the bubblegum C'Mon-like track to stay cute and then it gets 100% raw. The Zedd feature comes out of nowhere and you'll be gasping for breath when that breakdown comes along. It's another ear teaser, definitely a bizarre cut from this album.
Ke$ha: This song is so weird! [makes funny face] I adore it. So does Mr. Peep$, he dances to it with me. It's for all the cats out there. Animals, if you have cats, dance with them to this song. You better dance with them. I command you to dance!
Sick (featuring Neon Hitch)
"I'm sick and tired, sick sick and tired, s-s-sick of all your ****, I quit!" Billboard: This collaboration came out of nowhere but is nothing but delightful! It begins with a beautiful guitar riff and hand-off soft-voice verses between Neon and Ke$ha until it leads into the massive chorus where they go crazy about a guy who they're... well... SICK of! It tells a gorgeous story with gorgeous vocals. If you're unfamiliar with Neon Hitch, grab her Happy Neon EP that was released on our website in January!
Ke$ha: Me and Neon both went out with this total douche. We've been great friends and this guy totally tried to come between is, it almost ruined our friendship - but we came out stronger than ever, really. And made this. It's a song we both consider dear to us. I wrote 'You're A Tool" with her, too - you'll never guess who that's about!
Destroyed
"I'm destroyyyyyyyyyyyed, I can't recover, we were lovers, now we're nothing" Billboard: The most emotional song Ke$ha has ever done, and it's purely jam-packed with powerful vocals and production, like it's rocks and fireworks thrown in a blender. Calvin Harris and Stargate together on one track with Ke$ha screeching the melodic, explosive chorus was destined to be. This could be the biggest hit of Ke$ha's career, we're not exaggerating.
Ke$ha: I... I can't... [begins sobbing]
Homele$$
"Used to be homeless, now I'm just hopeless, wish I could go back, ye-ee-eah" Billboard: We never expected to see Ke$ha like this. Completely stripped down to her raw vocals and a dark, ethereal backing track. She sings about the days she lived in her car, like a part II to Wonderland - but this one's different. You can hear the aching nostalgia in her voice. You feel it, too. You'd have never thought someone would want once again to be homeless with nothing but a paper, pen and a Gold Trans Am, but that's where this dreamer invests her best memories.
Ke$ha: I can talk about this one. It's a reflection on the most beautiful times of my life, just before it blew up into something I had never seen coming. I never knew I wouldn't get those days back. It's so hard to cope with, but I made songs like this (and Wonderland) to encompass all of those feelings and never forget them. And the dollar signs are included just like they are in my name; it started as irony. I felt it was the best way to deliver the song.
Hook Me Up
"Hook me up with your sweet lovin', we just keep comin' back for more" Billboard: Defeats Blah Blah Blah as Ke$ha's most risque song, but this time it's done a little less outright and in-a-trashy-manner. You can see Ke$ha's class shining through this epic sexy poem of love. That's all we can describe it as. The guitar-driven chorus makes you want to stomp your feet and bang your body until it aches. Oh, and the most enormous mood-switch on the entire album. It's crazy.
Ke$ha: There was this guy I was around for a long time, and let's just say he was quite the tease [laughs]. He disappeared one day, none of his friends know where he went. I wrote this for him in hopes he'll find me. I used to tell him to hook me up [smiles]. Those were good times.
You And Me Were Meant To Be
"Try to hide, but everyone can see-e-e-e; you and me were meant to be-e-e-e" Billboard: This song reminds us of Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You". Ke$ha croons the chorus everyone would have thought she wouldn't have the vocals to pull off. She does it effortlessly, much to everybody's surprise. It's the sweetest love song about her man denying that they belong together, trying so hard to push her away, but of course, she's victorious in the end. We imagine an incredibly epic video alongside this track.
Ke$ha: This dumbass I was with, it took me so long to get his heart in my hands. He just was so blind, it was so annoying. But I finally got him. Of course, nothing lasts forever, but I needed to write a song about it, naturally. And what better to mix it with the vocal abilities nobody thought I had? I'm very proud of this song, I hope my animals lo-o-o-ve it! [smiles really big]

Overall, this album is a clear A. Outdoes everything Ke$ha has ever done. Non-fans would be very surprised by how well-executed this album really is, and if they don't right now, they will eventually. Buy 'Dreamer' at your local retailer today!

Now miss Collin, gworle. I detect MULTIPLE lies. Look at this report from today's National Enquirer!
Quote:
National Enquirer EXCLUSIVE!!!: Ke$ha and Slendy caught together in the studio!
Earlier today, the CEO of Indigo Records made a scandalous claim that his artist Ke$ha had in fact NOT collaborated with budding new artist Slenderman. We here at the Inquirer did some digging and came across this four month old photo at a recording studio. Please note that this UNEDITED photo is so dark because Slendy prefers to record his music at night and in pitch darkness.
This UNTOUCHED and UNEDITED photo proves that Ke$ha did indeed work with Slenderman on his debut record. We reached out to Slendy for his feelings on the topic but strangely, he was nowhere to be found. His publicist gave us a note saying that he (Slenderman) would be paying a visit to the Indigo Records CEO to "talk things over" and "clear the air".
This performance is so beautiful her singing it in the aftermath of 9/11 at it's benefit concert for the whole Nation. I want Mariah in this game to do something like that
Yes gurl, Mariah has BOPS on her "Glitter" album. People are so RUDE to it. It's her critically rated worst album of all-time, worst selling album, worst peaking album, etc. It didn't help she suffered a mental breakdown, probably was close to committing suicide, released the album on the day of 9/11, etc during that WHOLE era. Not a single song on that album went #1, and only one went Top 40 and went to #2 after being reduced in pricing majorly due to it flopping around #60.
Get into the amazing underrated, Glitter:
SHE EVEN HIT AN ALMOST 20 SECOND NOTE ON ONE SONG, AMAZING:
I've noticed many of you (well, only one, but whatever ) have begun to make up album(s) for artists that don't actually exist as musical artists. So here's the new rule:
If you want to make up a completely new artist, you are allowed to do so for free!
You heard/read right. If you always seem to miss bidding and want an artist now, then you can make one up for free! Just fill out this form concerning your artist:
• Artist name:
• Members:
• Style/genre:
• Additional details:
And a couple sub-rules to go along with this one....
• You can only do this once. You can't make twenty new artists for your label, that would be ridiculous.
• Keep in mind that this artist starts at 0 for popularity, which yes is a medium-sized chunk in the formula. Your artist's popularity can raise by doing promo in the thread, getting their name known and of course the usual promo you can buy.
• When I say completely new I mean completely new. Not Ke$ha's brother, not Lady Gaga's mother, not Katy Perry's ****ing poodle, none of that ****. Don't try it with me.
• Also since your artist doesn't have real music I'll be judging their songs and albums based on whether the style is marketable or not. This does not mean everything has to be dance-pop, but just something to think about.
So have a meltdown about this new exciting rule below
