I really don't understand why everyone is taking issue with this. Youtube views are obviously a great measure of popularity. If I like a song nowadays, I either listen to it on spotify, or watch it on Youtube and send that to my friends. Everyone's always crying about how radio counts too much and now that they're counteracting that, you aren't satisfied either? Besides, we don't even know how much views count yet...
What? YouTube videos? This is what the music industry is coming to?
Why should we even buy music then if we can just listen to it on YouTube I guess?
Absolute joke.

YouTube has played an integral part in the music industry for a couple of years now, so it was only a matter of time before YouTube counted towards the charts. That being said, this is so crazy. It sounds like everyone can easily have a #1 song now, when usually they would be stuck around ~15.

Basically. Everyone should be ecstatic w/ how their faves rack in the YT views. + w/ streaming it goes to show what the people are interested in, whereas we don't have much control over radio.
