Yas One of the reasons I did it was so that I would have a solid receipt of his talent. I was watching their Itunes Festival set (basically the Up All Night tour but professionally recorded in HD) and realized how strong his vocals are. I mean, Liam and the others have talent but if there is someone that gives his everything during their show is Zayn, he might not be jumping around like Harry but anytime he sings you can hear his voice clearly above the others' cause it's richer and much more powerful. I don't care if this upsets the stans of the other 1D members but I mean the kid is so frigging talented.

Not really true.

He has GREAT belts and sounds good when he is pushing the volume (which also happens to be what stands out in a group), however, he is incredibly pitchy when doing more subtle work. Saw a video when I was browsing youtube of Zayn covering a Taylor song casually and it was really BAD. He has some skills, but lets not pretend he is the end all of vocals. All the falsetto's and more difficult background vocal work/harmonies still fall on Liam who honestly made the other boys look like jokes back on X Factor, and I can see no compelling argument that it has changed all that much since then.

Not to mention that its not like Zayn will HAVE a voice in 5 years with his smoking.

That's not entirely true, a lot of the falsetto also falls on Niall and to a lesser degree on Zayn. Liam and Zayn both do vocal background, I suggest you watch a complete set by them so you'll realize this. And if you already have and you don't agree then you need to listen more carefully.

Sorry to suggest that Zayn isn't perfect at everything. Won't happen again *sarcasm*.

He is obviously one of the better singers in the group. I was never arguing anything else. However, to someone on the outside reading this thread you would think he was the next Whitney Houston. Facts are facts, there is a reason why almost everything you posted in that video was a belt, because thats what he does well. That does NOT make him the best singer when Liam's solo work is much more well documented and has much more consistent quality.

We don't have much in the way of recent solo performances from ANY of them, which is obviously intentional. What SOLO performances we do have (from online video's or their X Factor auditions) clearly show that Zayn's voice has significant deficiencies in some areas. Liam is simply the more well rounded singer.

Where in my post did I make Zayn sound like he was the next Whitney Houston? I was just making him sound very talented which for his age he is.

Liam is a good singer so I don't mind if you think he's better, I'll take bold and exciting vocals instead of consistent and boring but that's just me.

It was an expression. None of the boys have flawless vocals or they would have made it through as soloists on X Factor. Liam was the only one who had even one semi impressive solo performance on the show. Zayn is good but he does not have the all around voice of a solo artist. He fills a specific vocal roll in the group and there is nothing wrong with that.

Kind of random but I want to say it, one of the reasons I don't post here as much (but I do read what's being posted) is that anytime Zayn is brought up some of you guys say "you're all always talking about Zayn" and if I posted it would most likely be to talk about Zayn as well so I can see how it can become an overload.

But you guys don't talk about your favorite 1D members all that much either, I remember Jack used to always talk about Niall but not anymore and I don't see people posting Louis gifs etc so better than complaining about people constantly discussing Zayn would be taking the initiative and talk about the other guys (that's not to say some don't take that initiative already).

Zayn is the only one that matters. LOL but since I have been a fan for a year now, I have learned to appreciate the other members. Louis became a second favorite for me when I started to get really into the group. In real life Harry is the main one that is discussed honestly.
