I think the songs doing fine in its demo. I hear it on the radio everytime I drive somewhere, it's still in the itunes top ten album and singles chart. People love the mirrors promo single, a lot of people are anticipating Pusher Love Girl. He's doing fine. He doesnt have the stans a justin bieber has were kids aim to break youtube records so they spend all day on youtube clicking replay so thats an unfair comparison. For being gone so long I think he's doing just fine.

We'll see how things go once the album is out.

I think Suit & Tie is performing well for someone who took a very long break and releasing something that doesn't sound like any other thing on the radio right now.

It's just, to JT standards, it's underperforming.

Nah I don't know. I bought both Suit & Tie and Mirrors on iTunes, and I'm currently jamming more to "Mirrors", it really reminded me why I love JT's music

Honestly, it doesn't seem like he really cares about music anymore. He came back in music industry because he knows that he'll get people's support no matter what. Look at Suit &Tie for instance, this song isn't bad but it isn't a hit material either. He somehow managed to make it a "decent" worldwide hit and now he thinks that he doesn't need to promote it nor his new single. When the album comes out, he'll probably go back to acting.

The Grammy's didn't help? It may have not helped it get back to #1 but it went straight back in the top 3 on itunes and it's still in the top 10 after that night, doing well on spotify and even the promotional single surged to the top 10 and it wasn't even performed that night. For a second there who would have how it would have done if it wasn't promoted that week.
It's been 5-6 weeks and S&T is still holding its own and hasn't plummet. He's doing fine especially for him being 'lazy'. I know damn well its exceeding haters expectations just for the song not being pop or sounding like an instant/current hit.

He really needs to really PUNCH with something that will stay, forget his ego and wanting to change radio and whatnot. He needs to get a single that will blow up on the radio then change it from there.

Hit all the points.

S&T is weak. The video is a non-event, pulling all the tired early 2000s gentleman ladykiller tropes out of the hat. Mirrors is startlingly dated sounding. All this from a comeback doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence or hype.

That being said, i thought his performance at the Grammy's was pretty good.

S&T is a good song but by no means a good first single even for the name 'Timberlake'. I'm not sure if I would consider his break a factor, though. I mean yes, it was a very long break but Justin has put in the work to be able to do that and come back to success but I'm thinking people wanted Pop Justin rather R&B/soul Justin. That said, Bieber's sound is currently is more Urban that his previous efforts and he's still seeing success so maybe the other Justin can do that same.
