She does this on purpose. Especially lately she has been taking a lot of selfies that would traditionally considered to be unflattering.
I wonder if she does this to make some kind of statement or whether she just finds some kind of artistic beauty in it. I have to say I really like this photo though.

I kinda love her showing even her messy pics online. She probably figures there are already worse online, she might as well just be forward when she wants to share with fans how's she doing. And I don't blame her, between constant hardcore touring such a massive and exhausting show, and all the nontroversy the past few months. as well as trying to cook up album of the decade #2 It's probably taking its toll. I hope she gets some rest soon.
