I think Motivation could've peaked top 10 if pop radio were playing it when the song was peaking on urban and rhythmic (and if it had gone top 10, then it might've had a knock on effect and caused even more pop stations to play the song). But since pop radio got onto the song so late it ended up just having a longer chart run and a lower peak.
This song is very catchy and has a lot of synths. Obviously most pop stations won't playlist it at this stage, but I'm sure some will. Pop airplay is the most important for the Hot 100, since the audience that download from iTunes listen to that format the most.
