If it were up to me, I'd prefer Britney to go in a more alternative/rhythmic/pop route, and do songs like Gwen Stefani's "Cool", "The Real Thing", "4 In The Morning", etc.
I'm fine with the Urban leaning songs but I can already tell the lyrics are gonna be cringeworthy. Like, they're gonna have no relevance to what/who Britney is right now. None at all. And yes I know, lyrics don't mean much when it comes to radio and digital sales, but thats all the songs are gonna be. She'll be the new Rihanna. Ugh.
The point is that I don't like the fact that a ****** feature is becoming her biggest hit since BOMT (or ever in some markets). There is no doing the most, i'm just not here for it. She's not even in the song THAT much either yet Britney stans stay acting like we should be happy that SHE's slaying with a new song.
It's no different to how Xtina stans bragged about MLJ and y'all know it.
As a Legend X stan, I do find it VERY amusing that Brit has gotten her very own MLJ. And it's literally turning out to be just as big. Luckily for Brit she has BOMT, so it's near impossible for S&S to become her absolute biggest hit like it did for Legend.

Not necessarily. Based on what Hit-Boy and Elijah Blake have said - we're getting alot of songs from scratch, not demos passed down so it'll be more reflective of Britney.
And just because the direction is urban-ish, doesn't mean we're going to get tracks that don't reflect Britney. If anything urban tracks can let her open up more than strictly pop would.
Anyway, I like the description of what Hit-Boy said he's doing for Britney giving her a more "global" and pop sound. I was worried it'd be a bit TEW urban for my taste.
I agree with Jennifer. I've been saying for a while that there's a big disconnection between her and her music most of the time. It's time for a different approach and for her to finally take a more mature route. She should work with Xenomania again. Something like this would be perfect for her:
Easy to sing live as well. I know she wouldn't bother to sing it live though.

Christina got that because people just love to rag on her and her presence in the song is 40 damn seconds.

LMAO, I'm starting to think it's karma for all the shade we through last year.
I wouldn't even care if it was a good song like MLJ anyway and actually had Britney singing a lot but neither of those things happened.

Rihanna has a big part in every song she's featured on though and none of the collaborations she's done have come near Umbrella and/or WFL.
"Love the Way You Lie" is bigger than any Rihanna single sans "We Found Love," and yes, that includes "Umbrella." I love "Umbrella" and still know the lyrics by heart but people do too much when it comes to its success only because it's the song that turned her into a superstar. It's her most iconic single but not her biggest hit -- at least not anymore.

In "Love the Way You Lie" and "Take Care" Rihanna only does the chorus -- 'Just gonna stand there and watch me burn...' / 'I know you've been hurt by...' ....that's WAY less than what Britney does in "Scream & Shout." You do realize the first 50 seconds or so are all Britney doing her verse -- not to mention her "Britney, bitch" and BGs during the chorus? The only song Rihanna features on where she plays a major role is 'Live You Life.' And LTWYL is bigger than Rihanna's hits!
And who cares if S&S becomes her biggest hit. Doesn't this reflect Britney's longevity? The fact that she can keep topping herself year after year? Times change -- Britney's first single was 14 YEARS AGO...obviously with today's promotional tactics, inflated radio airplay and one-click downloads - her old work is going to get topped statistically (and easily).
Y'all should be use to this after 'I Wanna Generic' started toppling some of Britney's records.
how is S&S Brits MLJ. Atleast Brit has verses and some of the chorus. Unlike that 10 second nonsense. Let me not even bring up the fact that my radio stations around here cut Xtinas parts out.

Xenomania aren't as good as they used to be, not to mention 2 of the members that were apart of it that made their Girls Aloud songs and others so great, left the group in 2010. It says something when their best production post 2010, is All Fired Up by the freaking Saturdays. They show glimmers of former brilliance with Florrie, but that has more to do with Florrie herself than them.

While Britney doesn't even have a verse in Scream & Shout and just talks in an english accent for like 50 seconds. I'm not saying she doesn't deserve any credit because she of course does but.................
And about the LTWYL thing. It's MUCH better having an Eminem song where you sing the entire chorus (by yourself) as your biggest hit than it is having a Will.i.am song as it.
