Dark: it's cute and looks like it'll become evil
Fennekin:
Psychic: the move it used in the trailer
Ground: it being a fennec fox, and they usually live in deserts
Froakie:
Electric: The bubbles/clouds around it look like thunder clouds. it has a Thundurus thing going on.
Flying: Clouds could be like Altaria
Ice: The ammount of blue on it looks like it could be cold and become ice

The worst three ever for me were: Samurott (how you go from a standing otter to a male Lapras?), Emboar (I was fed up with fire/fighting at that point), and Torterra (not here for a grass-type Blastoise].

Queen Meganium remains unbothered. Samurott has a Gen V problem, where the picture used for the game/everywhere doesn't do it justice to how it appears in the anime.
He actually uses those things as swords and when he swims he looks majestic and swims bipedal-lly (is that a thing?.) I just learned this today.

I never used Chikorita but it's female look and innocence was a good transition from Bulbasaur's.
And Samurott is the messiest looking evolution It looks NOTHING like an otter or its pre-evolutions.

I have no qualms with the final evolutions of the starters to be honest. They're unique in their own way. I especially like Generation IV and V since they balanced it out in the typing and design respectively.
Generation IV balanced out its dual typing Grass/Ground, Fire/Fighting (even though its done to death) and Water/Steel.
Generation V's design was probably unique encompassing different cultures: Serperior - designed from French nobility, Emboar - designed from Chinese pig demon pattern and Samurott - designed from a Japanese samurai.
Apparently a new pokemon, named Fembee, has been confirmed. A friend told me they saw the name in a Japanese script. Images of the pokemon were also seen. My friend couldn't capture the image or find it online so they drew it.
That being said, the three worst look pretty badass together...
