Independent artists can still do the press rounds, they mostly have to work their connections. And distribution deals that only release the album (and have almost no say on the actual work) allow for better promo.
Idk I just can't see her meshing very well with any major label at the moment, seeing as how she wants to do things on her own pace and her way...
If I were her, I'd release at least an EP independently before signing anything major, UNLESS she does find the ideal deal. She's a lot like her mother now-a-days in that way.
I could totally use a 5-track EP in the Spring or Summer though.
