She's liked by the GP, releases good catchy music, didn't peak too early in her career and gives great live performances.

I agree. She was on the edge of extinction at the start of "I Am Not Dead" era and most especially when "Who Knew" TANKED before being re-released. She was a complete non-factor until the music online community (including ATRL) really fought for her, including myself. Wish I hadn't because her music since then has been repetitive, rehashed, garbage. :-/ She's really lucky she got a second chance because artists like her can fade really fast at the first sign of floppage. She's not that special.

I agree with this. And they are more loyal that teens. She actually doesn't have too much teen fans.

As I said before, even if she had flopped in N. America, she would still sell millons in Europe and Australia alone. Not to mention that she would outsell everyone even with these two markets.

The fumes
P!nk could've done without American support. But i'm glad radio played her! And she didn't have to appear on a TV show or sth

Oh, and don't deny she was really irrelevant in the industry with the consecutive flops of Trouble era until U + Ur Hand and Who Knew re-release gave her that jolt to bounce back. It's good she has the other continents, though. Especially Australia.

We could say Trouble was a flop in US, but it gave her the first solo Grammy - Success!!

You're speaking about USA! the world is not USA alone! didi you know? Stupid Girls was HUGE in Europe and Australia! All over the radio for all 2006! And even Trouble was a hit in Europe and "Try This" did moderately well! You don't even know what you're saying.

Funny but this is Britney's music you just described here, not P!nk's. At least P!nk can REALLY sing, writes her own songs (including some beautiful ballads like Just Give Me a Reason) and her voice is not totally autotuned on every song.
So try again. I can't at the hypocrisy in this thread, some people REALLY have no room to talk

And still she's successful because she released good tracks in the recent years, she's a great live performer and whenever people watch her sing live, they are reminded of how talented she's and how much she deserves her success. The petition might help back then but it surely didn't help her in selling albums and songs years after that.

The point is: She didn't outlast her contemporaries like the title of this thread says. I was agreeing with efg's post stating that just because Britney or any other artists underperformed in their previous eras doesn't mean she surpassed them. Pink has already had one flop era with Trouble and you could even say 1.5 considering the start of IAND underperformed as well, and she was coming back from a huge era with the former. So you could say during that time her contemporaries outlasted her as they were more successful, so this thread is ridiculous and you have no credibility if you agree with the thread title. Mind you, Britney hasn't even had a Trouble/Try This-sized flop.
However, it IS my personal opinion that she is nothing special and she was really lucky to have had another chance because without it I doubt she could survive 2 flops in a row. You said it yourself - people are reminded how talented she is when she performs. This proves she has no lasting power on people's minds and remains an afterthought, therefore she really isn't that special.

P!nk has NO media presence whatsoever, so it balances out.
