Diamonds is the final entry of Rihanna in my list for 2012. This song definitely fits to be in the top 20 because I totally love this song despite being released late on the last quarter of the year. She takes on a different approach with her new lead single as she goes into a mid-tempo ballad for the new era of her discography. Diamonds is probably one of the best R&B songs released last year and it truly deserves the success it is attaining. This song became Rihanna's 12th #1 song on Billboard Hot 100, on which she ties the record of Madonna and The Supremes. Rihanna proves that she is really considered the Black Madonna of this generation. This followed the marks of another milestone in her career with her latest record Unapologetic reaching the top spot on Billboard 200 Albums chart. Diamonds is brilliantly written from beginning till the end. Rihanna cleverly delivered the lines so well that it is really irresistible to listen. We will surely see more of Rihanna this 2013 because of her latest album. It will be no surprise if she will be on mission accomplished in achieving the 13th or probably her 14th #1 hit.

Taylor Swift may have topped my Albums list with her latest platinum record for Red but her highest entry in my Songs list is only at #13. The long-titled single for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together adds to another successful hit that Taylor Swift had released in her career. This one will probably be remembered because it is her first #1 song in Billboard Hot 100. If you have an interest in Taylor Swift's personal life, you'll obviously know that this song talks about another one of her ex's. Jake Gyllenhaal, I'm referring to you! Taylor narrates on We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together the frustrations at an ex-lover who wants to re-kindle their relationship. She delivered the message in a bubbly way making it singable for the audience, and it really worked. I must admit, I was really into this song when it was still popular in the charts. I can't really escape this song as it always being played on the radio. Taylor Swift may be changing boyfriends from time to time just like changing clothes, but she uses those experience to come up with smash hit singles. I can smell that her recent talk-about break-up will surely turn into another future hit single. Harry Styles, just you wait and see!
