WRITE-UP:
Jessie J scores another top 20 hit in my list, this time with the irresistible track for Domino. This song was doing well in the last two months of 2011 and what makes me even like it more was when the official music video finally got released at the start of 2012. This is one of the songs that really got me for a very long time. Domino was present in my countdown from November 2011 up to March 2012, so there's a big reason why it is this high. This could've been inside the top if it weren't for some songs that able to smash in the second half of 2012. Domino is probably one of the catchiest pop songs I've heard for the past year. Many have compared this song similar to the songs from Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. One reason perhaps is that this was produced by Dr. Luke. Jessie J really got me with this song. I thought Price Tag will just be her biggest hit of career but Domino comes to the rescue and it even become more popular. 2012 may not be Jessie J's year but at least she releases one of the best pop singles of the past year.

WRITE-UP:
It all started with this song. What Makes You Beautiful may have been released way back in September 2011 but its success was only recognized early last year. One Direction clearly started the resurrection of the boy band fever where the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC left. As I can see from the different Best Of's, this song appears the most on everyone's list. This is also One Direction's biggest hit for 2012 so no wonder this was able to be included in my top 20 despite only peaking at #3 in my countdown. One Direction also received some awards especially on the VMA's as they took home Best Pop Video and Most Share-Worthy Video. The song itself is another catchy pop tune released last year. One Direction successfully captured the hearts of many especially the girls with Makes You Beautiful. 2012 is definitely their breakthrough year and as of the moment, they are still dominating in the charts. It will be no surprise to see them next year dominating with their music once more.
