Ask someone in the paint section of Home Depot. They'll give you the skinny on Pearl and Emerald being colors...

But why does that even matter? Half of the main games are "technically not" colors.

ruby is a color, as are Sapphire and Emerald; however, I've never heard anyone use "diamond" or "pearl" in place of another color (maybe white?)

In light, yes. But in color pigments, which you see on the box arts, black is all the colors put together. And as for pearl...
Guys, Nintendo's CEO himself is going to announce , during a WW conference, a new Pokemon game (the other games got announced on Japanese TV). I do think it's going to be a NEW game and not a remake.
