Turn Up The Music is one of the irresistible dance track of last year that I've heard. It really makes you groove to this track whenever you hear this. This is one of the few standouts from his latest record Fortune. Chris Brown manages to release another smash hit with this song and it is good that it gained enough success on every charts. It also had an impressive run in my charts wherein it peaked at #3 and stayed for about three months. I have to admit, I was getting into this song as days pass by. Turn Up The Music also received some awards especially at the MTV Video Music Awards like Best Male Video and Best Choreography. Chris Brown surely knows how to deliver a good dance track. If he continues to release songs like this in the future. I'll definitely be here to support it once more.

The best heartfelt song of the year would probably go to I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz. I instantly fell in love with this song on my first listen. The message of the song is dedicated to a long-lasting relationship, which Jason Mraz says he won't give up on her whatever happens. It is really a perfect love song for couples out there. It really makes you inspired and continue the relationship despite any kind of arguments. With regards to its success, it definitely had a very impressive run on the charts worldwide. This is a top 10 hit on the US and it is having a great longetivity. I Won't Give Up doesn't really get old. It makes you want to listen to this over and over again. There is only one thing I can complain; that is Jason Mraz needs to stop with that Jesus Christ image he has right now. Other than that, everything is just flawless. Hands down for Jason Mraz in coming up with a great song that can be remembered for years.

Flo Rida makes his first appearance inside the top 50 with Whistle. I must say, I wasn't really expecting anything from Flo Rida especially with his new album but as 2012 passes by, it really turned out a great year for him. Whistle is just one of the smash hit Flo Rida scored last year. It spent two weeks at the top spot on Hot 100 as well as having an impressive run in my countdown. The whistle part is one of the highlight of this song. Though there wasn't any featured artist with this track, Flo Rida manages to deliver the irresistible chorus part. If you listen carefully to the lyrics, it can be interpreted as a thinly veiled euphemism for oral sex. As with the music video, what I love about it its setting where it was shot on the beautiful Acapulco, Mexico. It is really breath-taking to watch that music video. There is still one more song from Flo Rida in the list somewhere in the next updates. Stay tune for that as we get closer in revealing my top 20 songs.

Katy Perry makes her first appearance on my list with Part Of Me. 2010 and 2011 were definitely an amazing years for her career thanks to the her record breaking Teenage Dream album. The story doesn't end there as Katy Perry decided to re-release that record and entitled it with The Complete Confection. Part Of Me is one of the additional tracks from the re-release and it did well on the charts on its debut week. This managed to debut at #1 on Hot 100 making it only the 20th song to do so. It is also the only song that spent one week at the top spot last year where you can say this is a forgettable #1. I have also read some feedback with the perspective in this track stating that this is a leftover track produced from that album. I feel it that way but it did not lose my appreciation with this track. As for the music video, we see another good concept as Katy decides to go to military after discovering her man is cheating on her. I have come to love Katy Perry with every releases of Teenage Dream. Part Of Me is just one chapter that brings color to the amazing journey.
