No seriously, they just want more money, that's why they release it on Halloween time.

I think it's both of those reasons really... because both films are remakes and Evil Dead comes out first, they probably don't want to risk Carrie being overshadowed by it so they bumped it back to October and went with a Halloween release instead.

I meant moving the Carrie remake to go up against PA5 in October. Watch it get delayed again to January, just like they did with the new Texas Chainsaw.

Horror movies can compete ok at Halloween really, more will be inclined to see both. There'll be less people that'll see only one, which is more likely if it went up against Evil Dead in March.

U expect multiple horrors at halloween. I mean u don't see all but one Christmas movie floppin durin the holiday season

I agree to a certain extent that horrors will do better around halloween but a good horror that has good promo will do well no matter what time of the year it's released...

Thats kinda what I thought of too... but it looks like it's going to be better than twilight

I think World War Z will be the biggest selling horror this year... but it's not really a straight up horror so I'm hoping Evil Dead will snatch the biggest selling horror title for this year

Not if there released on the same weekend. PA and Saw 6 were released on the same weekend in October, and I'm pretty sure PA dragged Saw around the block and ripped its wig off.

Just watched the rest of them. Pretty much all of them bar Hansel & Grettel and Aftershock look like they have potential

Kinda scared for A Haunted House since Scary Movie took a horrible fall in its later movies and spinoffs, but at the same time i always wanted Scary Movie 5 to happen so i shall perch in my local cinema and deal

Yeah but new franchise goin up against an already established franchise is a bit different... By 6, Saw had its fans but it also had people that were tired of it and knew fine rightly what to expect and had probably stopped watching from as early as the first.

If anything, goin up against PA5 will work in Carrie's favour. Alot of people are already startin to get bored with it and PA4 probably sealed the deal for many.

Its not cancelled, yet. It got pulled from its 2012 release due to lack of progress. There hasn't been much news about it recently either.

They were looking for new pitches in ideas involving the movie and the future of the franchise. It will probably end up being rebooted again, and have nothing to do with the Rob Zombie ones.

Hmm..... let me get my pen out and start writing ideas down and send them in.

Thanks for the info. I'd actually rather they picked off from Halloween Resurrection than another Rob Zombie sequel or yet another reboot. I guess we will need to wait and see what happens though.

Where would they go after Halloween: Resurrection though? It'll probably be like Halloween 4, it'll take place like 10 years later with a new set of characters. Though it wouldn't be Halloween without Dr. Loomis chasing Michael. But we shall see.

Didn't Michael open his eyes at the end of the film? It seemed to me at the time they were hinting towards another sequel by Michael still being alive but it obviously never panned out that way. Whatever they do I hope it's better than the Zombie remakes, they were terrible IMO.

There was like 8 different endings to Resurrection. Though its the same with Rob's Halloween 2. The Theatrical and home release had 2 different endings.

I'm just hoping it actually gets made. Halloween is my favourite series.

And I agree , the Rob Zombie movies were a total mess.

It will be. There isn't really anywhere to go after Halloween 2. And I don't think any of the cast was interested in returing without Rob anyways.

I've always wanted a Freddy vs. Jason 2 sequel, but unsure that it will ever happen. I remember reading a script for Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash (from Evil Dead), but not sure if it was official or just fan-made.

I think if they are going to re-boot Halloween again though they need a new story... Apparently a Friday The 13th movie is in the works... but it isn't the sequel to the 2009 film. And Platinum Dunes better get working on the Nightmare On Elm St sequel or else imma have to have a word with Michael Bay
