36 | THE SCRIPT F/ WILL.I.AM
"Hall Of Fame" |
WRITE-UP:
For 2011, The Script captured my attention with their singles Science & Faith, If You Ever Come Back and their big hit Nothing. This time, they did it once again with the lead single Hall Of Fame. It's a bit of a different style from their earlier releases but it's still manage to capture my musical taste. It may not be comparable to the likes of Nothing or The Man Who Can't Me Moved, I still find Hall Of Fame decent and worth to be an anthem related to sports. The addition of Will.I.Am on the track doesn't really help at all. Lead vocalist Danny O'Donoghue can easily nail the lines by himself. Just like the music video, I find Will.I.Am such a camera w-hore as most of the scenes were almost focused to him. I haven't heard #3 in full but I will give it a try if I find time one of these days. Their latest single is somehow familiar with their previous sound, so I might restore my faith with The Script. Let's wait and see.

35 | BOYS LIKE GIRLS
"Be Your Everything" |
WRITE-UP:
It has been around five years since Boys Like Girls released their signature hits The Great Escape and Thunder. Their follow-up single Love Drunk was not that memorable while Two Is Better Than One only got attention because of Taylor Swift. This time Boys Like Girls got my attention with this heartfelt track that I could listen all day and I would never get tired of it. Be Your Everything is such a well written love song. Martin Johnson did an amazing delivery with this song. Whenever I get the chance to hear this on the radio, I feel the emotion and it really just makes me fall in love. Sadly, this beautiful track got ignored in the charts and it will probably settle to become another flop from Boys Like Girls. Despite that, this still deserve to earn a spot in my list as I really admire this one personally. Hopefully, Boys Like Girls could find the rhythm to earn another hit, Be Your Everything could have done it for them.
2009: KATY PERRY "Waking Up In Vegas"
2010: LADY ANTEBELLUM "Need You Now"
2011: RIHANNA "California King Bed"

34 | P!NK
"Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" |
WRITE-UP:
It's been a while since P!nk released a studio album. Funhouse was her last record followed by her greatest hits collection. 2012 marked as her comeback after giving birth to her daughter Willow, with the release of The Truth About Love. The lead single of that record, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), managed to find a place inside my top 50 list. It is a different this time as P!nk delivers a much mellow lead single unlike her upbeat and fierce lead singles. Blow Me (One Last Kiss) tells the end of the 10-year relationship between P!nk and Carry Hart. The black and white music video is kinda entertaining for me as we can see the angry and fun side of P!nk as the story goes on. Good thing P!nk decided to show us the colored version which I preferred more. Blow Me also did well in the charts and it even peaked at #5 on Hot 100. P!nk's latest album has a number of potential smash hits and I will not be surprised if she can have an amazing year for 2013 because that record is really consistent.
2009: MILEY CYRUS "Party In The USA
2010: JASON DERULO "What If"
