Born This Way
Marry The Night
Scheisse
The Edge of Glory
..... I can't remember tbh.

I think that's her order exactly. I'd add HML at the end for the hell of it tho.

To an extent, it only exacerbated the problem. She faded too far from her previous chart success, which is all that matters to most pop fans, really. She didn't have to be basic, but she didn't have to seal her career momentum away.
I mean, she'll have bandwagoners back if she has more successful singles, but if not, the only conclusions they'll draw are that she's irrelevant and a failure.
Touring means nothing to them. Perfumes mean nothing to them. And to many, critical acclaim means nothing to them.
Only thing that they'll praise are chart peaks and longevity. And singles sales numbers.

It is a shame she can't have or should I say hasn't had the radio success that Rih or Katy have
What are the 3's most successful radio singles?

She expected backlash, haters and it not being as commercial. What upset her is a lot of the backlash and criticisms were not from what she was expecting. She didn't see the EY/BTW comparisons, backlash from pop fans and backstabs by fake friends and bandwaggoners who jumped ship and started trashing her when she wasnt as popular as tfm era. She did say the album would test her fanbase but I don't think it was the way she was expecting.

Nah, it was actually Judas being released Easter weekend.
When you blaspheme a mainstream religioin, though, that's what happens.

I knew as soon as i heard TEOG that it wouldn't flop if they released it as a single. It had good lyrics, it was very radio friendly, and it was easy to sing along to.

No, you probably just didn't care or what matters to you most is the music (which is what everyone in ATRL really should worry about so for once it'll be peaceful)

TEOG was the first song I heard from BTW that wasn't a grower.

I love how I get into atrl and there are 4 pages of you guys loving and praising the masterpiece that is Marry The Night.
Now here's my point of view, marry the night couldn't have been saved, she promoted it everywhere, we requested it nonstop and we even had that MTN Download Day, thing is, the general public wasn't there for her anymore, she waited too long to release MTN, that was her mistake.
I remember reading everywhere how critics said that if gaga released MTN it was going to smash, if she had released it as the lewd single, I believe t would've done better than BTW, the era was a mess from start to end.
**** leaked before the release date, she didn't plan her singles (I don't believe the ******** she sad that it was the label who chose the singles, pure bs), it all went downhill when she decided to release TEOG after one month of releasing Judas, Judas was a terrible single choice, that killed BTW buzz and took away the support of most of the GP.
I would have loved that MTN would've been a huge hit, it's too bad that she didn't use it properly.

I know it's not straight from her mouth, but they had HUGE expectations for the album, it wasn't meant to be "torn down"

As a matter of fact let me pause Marina and the Diamonds and watch MTN video and recite the entire prelude

I don't really think Judas affected the BTW era that much. It didn't fare that well on the charts/radio, certainly, but the 2 singles that came after it did well, especially TEOG. MTN just seemed like some sort of black hole in her career that took attention away from everything else.

I just feel like I'm the only one who doesn't see her downfalls commercially because other people make a bigger deal of her relative underperformance and have lower expectations for ARTPOP. I think my stan-glasses are a bit thick.
The music matter most to me, but Gaga's status matter a lot to me as well - more than my posts might suggest, I guess.

Yeah that's true, but I think she knew her Shame stans would be not quite happy with the material.

Radio likes generic songs and/or those with multi-format appeal. Gaga is not generic and has little multi-format appeal.
