43 | GYM CLASS HEROES F/ RYAN TEDDER
"The Fighter" |
WRITE-UP:
Gym Class Heroes managed to have an entry inside my top 50 with their single The Fighter. I was surprised that they finally released something good and worth to listen. I mean, this is probably their song that I really appreciate especially the message behind it. OneRepublic lead vocalist Ryan Tedder lend his vocals especially on the irresistible chorus. The Fighter simply tells about not giving up and to keep fighting till the end. It is a perfect soundtrack to any kind of sport or competition being shown to the television. If Gym Class Heroes continues to release this kind of songs, I'll be sure to support them.

42 | JUSTIN BIEBER F/ BIG SEAN
"As Long As You Love Me" |
WRITE-UP:
Justin Bieber's first appearance in my list takes the #42 position with the second single from Believe. At first, I thought this is a Backstreet Boys revived track judging from the title alone. This is Justin's most mature single that he has released so far and I found myself jamming to this song. The chorus and the hook-ups are just simply irresistible that will really get stuck on your head. With regards to its success, it definitely did well in the charts having such longetivity especially on the top 10. Justin Bieber truly evolved from his music exploring genres of pop and R&B. As Long As You Love is one proof that he is here to stay for a very long time in the music scene.
2009: SHONTELLE F/ AKON "Stuck With Each Other"

41 | JESSIE J F/ DAVID GUETTA
"Laserlight" |
WRITE-UP:
2011 was the breakout year for Jessie J as her singles were well appreciated by majority. 2012 was a different story as she struggled a bit in earning another smash hit. Laserlight is a good and decent pop tune however, it did not do well in the charts unlike its predecessor, Domino. At first, I was into Laserlight up to the point that I am not hearing it on the radios. I simply ignored this for like two months. When it was finally being played on the radio, my interest went back and my appreciation towards this song grow even more. Like what I stated, it may not be a big smash, it is still an irresistible track that I enjoyed for a long time. That's the reason why it is inside my top 50 list for this year.
2009: SHAKIRA "She Wolf"
2010: BLACK EYED PEAS "Imma Be Rocking That Body"
