50 | CHRISTINA AGUILERA
"Your Body" |
WRITE-UP:
Kicking off the top 50 is Christina Aguilera with the lead single from her latest album Lotus for Your Body. I just could not left this song to place outside the top 50 knowing this is a Christina Aguilera track. It has been six years since Christina ruled my list with the Back To Basics era; fast forward today, her releases are struggling from the charts wanting it badly to be smash hits. Despite under-performing everywhere, I find Your Body decent. It may be a bit over sung probably because of Christina's powerful voice but it doesn't bother me. I have an opinion that Your Body could've better be offer to Britney Spears knowing she can deliver sexy and seductive lines. With regards to its music video, we see Christina flirting and making out with different men then she goes and murders them afterwards. Instead of seeing violence and blood, you can rather see confetti and paint. Eventually, let's hope Christina finds her rhythm in achieving a smash hit. Her fans and music fanatics should at least support her singles to help her get back on top.

Despite placing a spot in my Albums list, Usher only has one entry in my Songs list this year. This is for his single Scream. When I first heard this, I instantly liked it. This should have been the lead single from Looking 4 Myself instead of Climax. In that way, Usher could have earned himself another #1 hit; but it did not happened. At first listen, this could make you wanna grove and dance to its beat. Scream contains sex-fuelled lyrics as Usher sings on how to get that particular girl to come home with him and make out with each other. This single fair well in the charts, it managed to peak inside the top 10 on Hot 100, and that's all about it. Looking 4 Myself era doesn't seem to be a good era for Usher as none of its singles managed to reach the top spot. Probably, there are new R&B male artists that are easily capturing the audience's attention. Usher will definitely come up with a better record next time.
2009: BEYONCE "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"

48 | ED SHEERAN
"Lego House" |
WRITE-UP:
When I first heard Lego House, it's cute and I instantly fell in love with it. When I saw the music video, I was in a questioning mode as I see Rupert Grint from Harry Potter singing the song. It made me think that Rupert Grint used the name Ed Sheeran as his musical alter ego. Well, those stupid thoughts were quickly answered by doing some research and found out Rupert is just a guest on the video. One of the interesting observations is that Rupert and Ed Sheeran have the same physical features. Going back to the song, I couldn't see any flaw from it. I wish that this could've gotten enough attention to become a hit but it never did. I'm sure, if you are an acoustic love song fanatic, you will definitely like Lego House. Ed Sheeran has some nice acoustic songs from his album but this one stands out among them. This is good enough to have a place in my list for this year.

2010: RIHANNA F/ JEEZY "Hard"
