Honestly, she doesn't need anymore than 2 weeks to hype the single, assuming she announces it on New Years/Christmas. That's most of peoples peeves when there was such a song wait for Born This Way - overhype.

People don't know what they're talking about. They use the over hype excuse but the truth is that it didn't perform how they wanted it to. Hype is never bad, she had everything going for her.

True, but if singles are used to promote an album, and the lead single does well, what's the problem with releasing an album, say a week later?

Not here for promo singles next era All those promo singles for BTW kinda ruined listening to the album for the first time for lots of fans (even though no one forced them to listen to the promo singles) and it's just overkill. Plus, it muddles the actual single releases. For example, The Edge of Glory overshadowing Judas before it was even a real single.
