I love those three tracks as well, although I'm not the biggest fan of the will.i.am collab.. Lovekiller is also in my top 5
I don't know her other two albums but everyone says AML is much better than them so I don't think I'll check for them Fight For This Love is amazing
|
i never heard any praise for Craziest Things myself .. but that track hit me in the first listen .. and it didnt get old
love killer, not for me ... my top 5 would include Girl In The Mirrror or Call My Name
the other two albums, as i said, have their highlights .. like Parachutes, FFTL, The Flood(my fave Cheryl song ever, so underrated though.. ) >>>>>>>> AML songs .. but as an album, AML really shines in her discography!!
excited for her next album tbh.. although the Girls Aloud gig may delay it for awhile!

Yeaaah, Just A Fool is definitely beautiful I heard/thought it was going to be the second single, is that true? Could be really successful if it was
I guess she wouldn't have been able to make it her own, just because of the lyrics. For me every single one of his features is kinda unnecessary But oh well, it's just one track - luckily
|
awesome and same for me, I really have to hear an album as a whole because otherwise it's too easy to get a wrong impression of it.
I think it is the second single, since she's been performing it with Blake and stuff, hopefully people are here for this great collaboration
probably, yeah. haha, that might as well be true.. his feature on ORA gives further proof

Girl In The Mirror is great, and Call My Name as well of course, epic first single
I also know Parachutes and I like it will listen to The Flood maybe sometime!
yeah I guess she's doing GA stuff now? don't really care much for them so I'm just gonna wait it out

Olly well I kinda disagree with the comment, I think it's his voice that makes him unique, but still great to see him here.

I agree, I think his voice definitely has some unique qualities and makes him stand out. I was more referring to the music with that comment. Troublemaker for example sounds very Maroon 5-ish to me.

I was hoping Leona would chart higher. I love your description!
Olly is really good, I need to check his album in full though.

Yeah and sometimes it sounds kinda disjointed even though it isn't in reality. And I love the excitement I feel when I get a new CD and put it into the stereo for the first time.
I was confused since she also performed Make The World Move, or am I wrong? But since we saw how high JAF charted on iTunes during the release week... They would be dumb for not releasing it. Can't wait to the video and the artwork and such stuff
Yeah... That was... kinda the definition of terrible. I only listened to that song... once or twice, that was more than enough

I almost put her into the top 15, but the competition was really tough so she didn't make it in the end thank you!
I hope you listen to Olly's album, it's good.

exactly! and yes, the excitement of the first listen, that's the best part about the release of a new album
you're right, she also performed that on The Voice, but I think her and Blake have performed JAF on some other shows already so I'm pretty sure that is the second single. oh yeah, the video should be interesting
I have nothing to add to that

TOP ALBUMS OF 2o12
#15
KREAYSHAWN | SOMETHIN' 'BOUT KREAY

this album is underrated by many people, simply because they think Kreayshawn is trash. maybe she is, and she's not the most interesting lyricist or the best singer/rapper either - but who listens to Kreayshawn for great lyrics or amazing vocals? right, no one. she is not known for these qualities and that's why she shouldn't be judged by them.
what makes this album so likeable for me is that it's not serious, it is 100% fun and provides songs to listen to when you just want to have a good time and be silly. some would say that makes it a guilty pleasure, but I don't like to use that term because I don't think anyone should feel guilty if they like a certain piece of music.
I wish people could look past Kreay's image and actually give this album a chance, because it has an amazing production and some really great tunes.
favorite tracks Twerkin!!!. The Ruler. Luv Haus.

I don't understand why so many people don't buy CDs anymore. That's so sad Buying music via iTunes or not buying music at all is just not the same...
It just has to be, otherwise RCA proves that they are even worse than I thought they were
To be honest I haven't listened to Kreayshawn's album, but I like your way of thinking. Sometimes it doesn't really matter whether something is "good" - judged by critics. Sometimes all that matters is the beautiful life (I just had to do that, it's really not my fault ) and thus the mood something evokes. And thanks. Thanks for writing why you don't like the time "guilty pleasure". While doing my own Best Of I thought about using it a few times, but it never felt right and now I finally know why

I must say I've only heard one song from her ever, and it was that first song that got everybody talking. I can't remember the name of it though

me neither. I have to admit that I don't always buy CDs either, but that's simply because I don't always have the money. sometimes I just wait until they are on sale or I buy it on iTunes because it's cheaper than the physical album. I also use leaks to check out the album before, except for my faves but generally, owning music >>>>>
thank you, I'm glad you agree! and nice mention of one of my favorite songs off of Warrior but yeah, I mean quality is subjective, anyway, and I think that music really doesn't have to be deep and serious all the time. plus like you say, sometimes it's just how an album makes you feel that makes you like it, and that's totally okay imo.
no problem

TOP ALBUMS OF 2o12
#14
KE$HA | WARRIOR

it took me a while to get into this album because after the enormous hype, there was no way it could have met my expectations. I'm really enjoying it now, though, and I think it's a decent comeback for Ke$ha.
she delivers party jams with the classic K$ attitude, heartfelt ballads where you get to hear her real voice, as well as experimenting with more electronic/dubstep sounds and collaborating with a couple of rock stars. that style fits her, and I think it's great that she shows some variety and doesn't just stick to the pop genre, especially 'cause she has often expressed her desire to go into a more rock-ish direction.
the album falls a bit flat sometimes, be it due to issues like overuse of autotune or just the general weakness of a couple of tracks, but overall it's an enjoyable, better than average record.
favorite tracks Crazy Kids. Dirty Love. Love Into The Light.

Yeah, money... That's really a problem sometimes, but I always find a way to get the albums I really want. And if I don't need an album instantly I just wait until I've got enough money and ask myself whether I really want it. Most of the time I use previews to find out whether I like something or not Also the ones of my faves, just because I'm too excited to resist
I also love the song Of course quality is subjective, hence I added "judged by critics" If music was serious all the time it would be quite depressing...
Well, it took me a while to receive my copy of Warrior Don't understand why it flopped... It's really a decent comeback music-wise. The rockstar-style definitely suits her, wouldn't have imagined that, though Love Into The Light is wonderful, haven't seen many people listing it as one of their favorite tracks, I'm happy that you did It's one of my favorites, too! And Dirty Love is just... crazy, but in a great way.
