It was in the 70's on Friday 7th not Sunday 2nd. Music channel airplay works wonders in the UK, having the 'VIP Track' and 'Hot new videos' builds hype for upcoming releases for those who do not perform - artists like Flo Rida and David Guetta rely on it for high debuts.
From past chart watching and observing the buzz/climb around the release here in the UK, it's my opinion that the hype was no way near big enough for a #1 debut since the airplay and promotion was barely starting.
