Introductory Album: The Element of Freedom (Deluxe Edition)

For a couple of years I've fawned over Doesn't Mean Anything, Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart, Empire State of Mind (Part 2) and No One, so I decided to ask an expect about her. Vato was the first I saw, so the first time we spoke I asked for his advice on which album was her best - he told me The Diary... but suggested that I listen to The Element of Freedom as I knew more singles from that. Alicia's incredible talent, writing and music captured me instantly, cue me geeking out and reviewing every track on Vato's wall as I heard them. Alicia was another artist that managed to reach the top regions of my last.fm based on the plays of one album alone, so you can see my obsession ran deep.
Now there's a few reasons why I prefer TEOF over Girl on Fire (the only two albums by her I've heard all the way through) with the main probably being the length of the former. Girl on Fire is an amazing album, but it's too damn short and very un-Alicia-like which sucks. But TEOF retains a huge nostalgia for me, holding my all-time favourite song by Alicia; That's How Strong My Love Is. That song is indescribably beautiful and literally flawless.
I'm so glad to have 'discovered' Alicia - she's rapidly become one of my preferred artists and if I hadn't discovered her I wouldn't know the magic hidden in her albums.
