You & I was a surprisingly strong hit for her, and as much as I rant about the BTW era, it was a single choice/era for me that ended up working in her favor. She might end up losing all of that HAC progress though with less friendly music.
That's my real concern as well, which hasn't been talked about by her fans.
If anything, BTW wouldve been better in 2012 than in 2011. It would've fit in more with this indie trend that music is seeing.
She's moving in the wrong direction though, in terms of that. Heavy EDM and "rap" are all but dead in the mainstream picture right now. Even Ke$ha and Rihanna are avoiding their "dubstep" heavy tracks and choosing more "pure pop" tracks as singles for that very reason.

Bubblegum pop seems to be doing really well, too, with Carly and Taylor both getting hits from it this year. But we know she won't go down that road.
Honestly, as boring as it is, "Princess Die" would probably fit in with today's climate fairly well. The only problem would be if it becomes the UK equivalent of "Judas," because she NEEDS a hit there and hasn't seen a number one there since Telephone.

Don't be! At the very least, it keeps the conversation moving! And it'll be that much better if she surprises us all in the end!

I was certain that the BTW era was gonna be bigger than TF/TFM in January 2011
I'm taking the opposite approach this time

BTW (the album) and the tour did fine in the UK though. She cant have megahits in every country every era, because her sound keeps shifting to different markets. (Except BTW/TEOG were hits there anyway)
You & I/BTW were US-centric, for example, and TEOG was global and did well in Oceania.
I guess we'll see how her lead single sounds. With how long she's been gone though, I dont have huge expectations for it rocketing to #1 or something anymore.

Some guy on the news just said that Gaga is the popstar from this generation that's most likely to be remembered in 20-30 years He sells music memorabilia

"Call Me Maybe" really doesn't count as dance-pop. It's... more in line with "Sugar" by the Archies, if anything.

Lady Gaga is on break now anyway, she's probably already getting on a plane back to the US.
Hopefully we get news in these 4 weeks off.

And if she doesn't debut at number one, she won't get it at all I'm afraid. This song is definitely shaping up to be a streaming monster in 2013 and I think she might actually get blocked by it.
To be honest, I feel like she'll end up with just the three number ones that she already has.

Starships peaked at 5. And Stronger had a week after Part Of Me's debut.

I think you're reaching with that. She's still a bigger seller than Rihanna or Katy Perry album wise, and is by far the biggest touring/cultural star at the moment.
Counting out her entire future of #1's..
Her lead single will likely get there. After that, doubt it

I'm under the impression that she's starting to slowly ease herself back into the public's consciousness, starting with the Rolling Stones performance.
---
@ClashAndBurn - i'm pretty sure that she's gonna have a few different genres on ARTPOP, EDM, trap (which is kinda spoken like that song you linked), she said she has K-Pop, complextro and i'm sure that she's gonna have a few pure pop songs on there.

Album sales are not conducive to number one singles, though. And we saw what happened when Just Bieber debuted with more digital sales than Born This Way and peaked at number two.
Consider this, we don't know how well she'll do on streaming. To be fair, that will determine her future with number ones

We thought that with Vogue, then with the FAME commercial, etc.

Fair, but that's an issue with Billboard's chart formula now more-so than it does with Lady Gaga. A lot of stars are going to face that same issue unless you have a viral hit like CCM

Sorry i got confused about Starships.
When you said "dance" it came to my mind.
Well Part Of Me was number 1 but Stronger.. Yeah..
I guess you are right then. But it was lack of good dance songs, Gaga will bring DANCE back.

At least she said this week that ARTPOP will be out right after the tour, so the single can't be too far.
I wish she would just put it out in January, but we know she wont

Well, it makes debuting at number one harder, which is how she and Britney would get there... That's what I'm getting at.
She can manage a bunch of number twos, I'm sure. Number ones are questionable, though.

Yeah, I guess. Depends on her videos though.
If she can make her videos huge like Judas/BTW/Bad Romance/Alejandro (you get the point) view wise, then she can get those streaming points.

The admin of PropaGaga (who actually speaks w/Gaga's team thru e-mail) said that she planned to release the album in November, but changed her mind at the last minute.
At this point we're sure that the albums gonna be out within the next 4 months.
