What's so special about lady gaga? I went to the monster ball, and I saw the creepiest people ever (her fans LOL) but oh well I didn't enjoy the show..

Btw sold 7 millions??? Born this way is nowhere near to 7 millions...those r just label inflated numbers, just to make the album seem like it was a SMASH ( don't you guyz remember when her label tweeted that born this way passed the 8 millions mark 5 mounths after its realease?), welll it was succesful, but didnt really SMASH, and stop comparing Born this way sales with 4 sales :
BTW had 123455678 times more promo than 4's promo.
BTW single Sold more than 4's singles combined, so more promo for the album.
BTW videos were waaaaay more expensive and attention grabbing then 4's low budget videos.
BTW was mainly POP and had a THEME wich SELLS, 4 in the other hand was 100% RnB.
BTW has actually A WORLDWIDE tour to PROMOTE the hell out of the album when 4 had dust.
And STILL SOLD 3 millions wich is more than Okay for a Urban act nowadays.

7m is not inflated at all.
if you say 7m at the end of 2011 is inflated, then LOUD's figure of 5.8 is inflated as well.
and Beyonce still has songs from "4" playing on the radio now, i don't see how that don't consider as PROMO. and Beyonce is not an urban act. She is pop and RnB

I don't know about the other countries. But GaGa is the biggest international super star in Asia. (Japan, Korea, China, India,Thailand ect. People are becoming so crazy to try their best to get the tickets for her show. It is almost impossible to book at least one ticket. She add 3 extra shows in HongKong. I attended the last one. It was REALLY AMAZING!!!
Beyonce is also great, but I won't fly from Shanghai to HongKong to watch her show tbh.)

Exactly. No other international superstar is bigger than Gaga in Asia.
Her power in Asia is incomparable to her contemporaries.

Probably because Obama has been dronin the sh*t out of Pakistan lately
Anyways, Gaga is a pop artist and she is white so she has an advantage.
Beyonce is not as global as Rihanna (who is the only black global star right now) probably because Rihanna makes pop records. Beyonce hardly does. Most of Beyonce's singles are R&B/urban and she is a vibrato-heavy artist. Even the obviously pop ballads like Halo, BTINH, If I were a Boy, and Irreplaceable have R&B/soul vocal stylings. The only singles she have that are completely not urban are Beautiful Liar and Sweet Dreams.
Its so obvious her whole idea behind the SF gimmick/album was to do a non-R&B album with the intention of becoming more global. Obviously, it worked but luckily she came back to her senses and realized R&B is what is authentically her.
BTW: Im glad that she finally is getting hip to rock. Rock is a ''white'' genre that can work with her vocal style more than that dance/pop or acoustic like she did with SF.

You sound so PRESSED, why bringing LOUD's receipts into this?? LOUD is at 6.5 millions ( the album passed the 6 Million mark back at the end of 2011 *acccording to mediatrafic* when BTW was still struggling to pass the 5 millions), proof it's still charting in the UK and selling 5k worldwide per week ( 70 in the UK/ireland itunes chart wheere BTW is nowhere to be seen), go to Rihanna's album receipt threads for Album sales estimations as im not the appropriate person to confirm anything. Not trying to shade born this way chart performance, it did more than great but stop bringing other artists down to make your fave in a higher/better pedestale.
I STAN for both Gaga and Rihanna and both girls r DOING THEIR THING, so stop with your nonsense comparisons.

It's more like the way she's marketable, the race factor doesn't mean that much since Rihanna is massive WW and she's black. It has more to do with the music and the way she's marketed to the crowds.

There are many factors as to why:
Gaga has a personality...if you're relatable, people will warm up to you. Beyonce seems to lack in that department.
Gaga's music is dance/pop. Beyonce is geared towards rnb/pop.
Gaga takes risks with her music..is more controversial and overall an undeniable presence..
Gaga is white(really doesn't mean much, but race still plays a part).
Not to discredit Beyonce, because it's well known that she and other black artists have to work twice as hard to get the respect of their white counterparts..That's a fact.

Unapologetic is 90% Urban, and the DWT is already sold out including her multiple stadiums dates. Stop with the " she is making pop records" excuses.

Really dunno why people always never use their brain? Rihanna loud sold 6.5mil according to mediatraffic, then BTW sold 5.4mil (year end 2011) according to mediatraffic also.
From Mediatraffic (2011 year end album chart)
Adele - 21
XL Recordings - 15,3 million copies
02.jpg (911 bytes) Lady GaGa - Born This Way
Interscope - 5,4 million copies
03.jpg (905 bytes) Michael Bublé - Christmas
Reprise - 5,2 million copies

Only your fave sold numbers are correct according to mediatraffic? Other numbers are fake from mediatraffic?

Has either of them performed at a national sports game that is equivalent to the USA's Super Bowl?

Sis. Unapologetic is NOWHERE near 90% urban. Maybe the first half of the record is but the latter half definitely isnt.
Diamonds is a pop record. Stay is a pop record. WFL pop record. Where Have You Been pop record.
Please, there is nothing wrong with making pop but dont make it seem like Rihanna would be global with just urban. Why do you think her urban songs are mostly state-side releases only?

Beyonce is an R&B artist who makes contemporary R&B, very few of her songs are pure pop. Even the songs meant to be pop still have heavy urban influence, which explains why they are received so well by urban markets.

According to Mediatraffic
BTW
2011 - 5.4mil
2012 (first 8 weeks) - 404k
Total - 5.8mil (as of 8th week of 2012)

Now your talking about the singles departments, i was talking about the album departments, since when u get to buy an album on itunes, u listen firs to the snippets, and most of them r urban influenced, and people still bought it.
If we talk about the singles departments then yes Rihanna releases pop records, but releases as well Uban records, but i do agree that they only get US treatment, except Man down and What my name.
