Bad Food
China is shutting down 180 food factories after the inspection found that their food products contained dangerous levels of toxic chemicals. Over 15 tons of food from these factories have been banned from entering the market. The country-wide food product inspection was initiated by the Chinese government officials after a series of scandals with Chinese exported food that was found to contain illegal chemicals like formaldehyde, unsafe color additives, and industrial wax. The country authorities said they will do everything to "clean" Chinese food and protect their food export share in international markets.
