For all those who are telling that 70% drop is big. There is table of % decrease for albums released in 2012 and who sold more than 150K in debut week. Rihanna and Phillip sales is excluded form calculated average.

So her drop is absolutely normal in current sales climate. Actually it's Phillip who is over performing for 2nd week sales.

Obviously Taylor had a massive drop, because she sold so much the first week. She still sold more second week than what Rihanna sold first week. Yes, Taylor had a 70% drop, but that's only because she started so high. Rihanna's numbers are already lower, so a 70% drop is more detrimental.
No shade, just what I think.

Carrie's drop isn't bad at all considering she's one of the higher debuts.

The point is, ~70% drop is what most albums see in their second weeks of release, no matter how high or low they debut.

As previously reported, Alicia Keys' new album "Girl on Fire" is set to earn the highest debut next week on the Billboard 200 chart, with a No. 1 entrance likely. Industry sources suggest that the set, which hit retailers on Nov. 27, might sell between 145,000 to 170,000 copies by the end of the tracking week (Sunday, Dec. 2). "Fire" was the only major new release this past week that will sell a number that large.
Standing in Keys' way could be Taylor Swift's former No. 1 "Red," which sold 185,000 last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and Rod Stewart's first holiday set, "Merry Christmas, Baby" (117,000 last week).

70% drop during November is HORRIBLE. I don't know what some of you are talking about.
And Alicia's numbers are not good either. 'Girl On Fire' is doing much better compared to 'Doesn't Mean Anything'. + her promo has been great so far.

Most pop artists cannot stay relevant for even 5 years. Alicia has been around for more than 10 years. Inevitably she has become irrelevant now. It happens to everyone.

YAY ALICIA!!!!!! GET THAT #1 AGAIN!!!!!!! QUEEN OF R&B
And why are y'all saying Alicia's become irrelevant? Didn't y'all celebrate Rihanna when she hit #1 saying it is a proof for her relevancy and now Alicia does the same and she's irrelevant? They're obviously both relevant, otherwise they wouldn't reach those sales. Why don't you just celebrate that Rih got #1 instead of trying to bring other fans down?

How is a possible #1 debut and a combined #2 on iTunes irrelevant?
