I don't understand this part though. Is it about how many weeks the singles spent in the Hot 100? Because 225 weeks = 4 years, so I don't get it... and why does the re-release have a bigger numbers of weeks than the original?

Yes it is the total no of weeks they spent on the Hot 100. Obviously more than 1 single can be on the chart simultaneously, hence why they add up to 4 years rather than 2.5 years.

The re-release has more weeks than the original because it's adding on the weeks of POM and WA to the six singles from the original.

Good God that was a long era. I'll miss it, especially the early parts. I remember waiting up for Teenage Dream and finally getting it and loving the whole thing.
