Doubt it will help. That special draws less ratings than SNL which didn't do much for Carry On. But a performance slot guarantees some major noms.

Best New Artist is going to be so wide open. I really don't know how is going to go. There have been so many NEW acts to dominate the charts this year, I just don't really know how its going to go. Fun. is a probably the only lock. for me? Carly/Gotye was for me, but now am not so sure.

Aren't they eligible? The Lumineers have more of a chance then Of Monsters and Men, or even Alabama Shakes as a surprise entrance.

Gotye didn't get submitted for BNA. Fun did. Besides, he's been around for a long time, too. Just like Bon Iver, who won.

And I think Carly will end up being the Nicki/Justin type of nominee that will get a token nomination out of their popularity, but has no real chance of winning.

I'm pretty sure Kendrick's album missed the deadline. Or is Kendrick's Section.80 considered his first album? If then, he would eligible, but the album that's getting public attention isn't eligible, so I doubt he gets in until next year.
