I could still remember the day when I looked up on Billboard Hot 100 website and saw Rihanna's SOS at No. 1. Who is this girl? I started to like her after Unfaithful and Umbrella. I remember when they remixed it with Cinderella, gets me moving every time.
Me and Rihanna had a falling out after Lady Gaga but Diamonds brought me back to her as she charmed me during GGGB.
But in a way it just makes me appreciate Madonna, Whitney, Michael and Mariah even more! Their #1's were much more hard to get in a much different circunstance then the current digital era we live in....
This is so, so off base. It's currently harder to get a Hot 100 #1 than it's pretty much ever been. Michael Jackson and Mariah had several singles open at #1 based just on sales.
By this week its end and if Rihanna her album hits No. 1 on Billboard 200. Then it's a record for both her and Taylor. Taylor her albums sold by record numbers and easily gets No. 1 on Billboard 200 while having a curse getting No. 1 on Hot 100... until this year. Quite the opposite for Rihanna who easily gets her No. 1's on Hot 100 but again having a curse like Taylor but on the Billboard 200.
