Despite what is considered a limited range, Madonna songs are difficult to sing. I thought he did a decent job though - nowhere as bad as the judges were making it out to seem. I do agree that he doesn't have enough soul. I would have put his gf on stage so he could have added that extra umph he needed. Madonna and Britney fans (as well as teenage girls) will vote for him so he'll be okay :-)
