I don't think I could pick just one track as my favorite, here is my breakdown of the album..
Lotus Intro 10/10 - Great track, nice laid back vibe, should've been a full length song.
Army Of Me 8/10 - Love the electronic elements and the meaning of the song, her vocals work well with this style of track.
Red Hot Kinda Love 10/10 - I love the old school vibe, it sounds like a party. I love the bridge. The music video could be great.
Make The World Move 10/10 - The horns, piano and percussion really build this song up. More music should have the instrumental quality of this track, it would be great if this song could turn the sound of music to a more live sound. It reminds me of something Beyonce might have done with the horns, cow bells and so on. Really soulful.
Your Body 8/10 - A good, solid track. I might of rated it higher if I hadn't played it out. I think there are other opportunities on this album for a stronger lead single but this is a good track.
Let There Be Love 10/10 - This song is just so damn catchy. The harmonization on the chorus is great, it really shows you how great her voice handles these dance tracks.
Sing For Me 10/10 - Probably my favorite ballad, the lyrics are really strong. While others think this song shows a weakness within' her voice I think the opposite. Her voice sounds strong. It reminds me of a more mature 'Blessed'. The harmonization at the end of the song remind me of Destiny's Child, it's really smooth and polished.
Blank Page 8/10 - A power ballad for the connoisseur of music, I don't think this song ever be released as a single but a performance is warranted. Her vocals sound so much stronger than they have in the past, the control she has is great. The piano back is soft and subtle, as it should be considering her voice is the real instrument.
Cease Fire 7/10 - I'm not sure I like the intro, but the percussion leading into the first verse is amazing, I think the song should've started there. I think this song is sequel to 'Fighter', it sounds like the repercussions of the war she experienced within' her marriage. The song has some elements of an Island track, it's interesting.
Around The World 7/10 - The chorus and bridge of this song are really strong, some of the verses I think are a little weak. This song is obviously has urban influences. I feel like I need to hear a higher quality version as opposed to the one I have from the first day it was out.
Circles 8/10 - I love the island feel of verses and then the total directional change to a rock/pop chorus is genius. This is such a playful song. Her adlibs towards the end of the track are almost hypnotic.
Best Of Me 9/10 - A very strong song, wonderful R&B influences with undertones of rock. Another track similar to something Beyonce would do, the lyrics are mature, I feel like their very relate-able. The percussion in the chorus creates almost a wall to protect the vulnerable lyricism. I love the symbolic nature of the song (at least my symbolism). The bridge is strong, soulful
Just A Fool 10/10 - Second single material, it has a huge crossover appeal. The rock/pop tones are well deserved. This song reminds me of 'Pictures' and I think it could have a similar success. It's grown up, people of all ages can relate. The vocals are amazing, the two really suit one another. It's a simple song which would be quite refreshing on radio, currently. A really grown up departure from some of Christina's older music, she's matured a lot over the course of her career and she does it flawlessly.
Light Up The Sky 9/10 - Great song, could've been a track on the standard edition. I think this sounds similar to a Ryan Teddar production. Candice is a great writer.
Empty Words 7/10 - Nice feel good track, reminiscent of Leona Lewis.
Shut Up 6/10 - Not really here for this, It reminds me of a leftover from Bionic. I DO love the early 90's hip hop feel mixed with the 90's grunge sound.
Overall, I think this record is a solid 9/10.
It's an amazing pop record, the music is great quality and I'm keeping my fingers crossed this album earns back her spot in the limelight. She really made a strong, vocally and lyrically mature album.
I love the Pop/Rock/R&B influences, she really played with her style and I honestly think this album is the best she's EVER released. I could listen to this entire album without skipping a single track. I will be buying this.
