Kelly's good at changing her style and affecting her tone for what she needs, it's especially true when she covers jazz standards. She often sounds like she came right out of the era, I can't even describe what it is she does because it still sounds like Kelly, yet it is different lol, I really can't explain it.

I absolutely LOVE me some Kelly though, don't get me wrong. I own all her albums and admire her voice more than most of the pop girls out there right now.

But Carrie's performances of How Great Thou Art at CMA's Girls Night Out and Blown Away at the Billboard Music Awards are on another level vocally.

She got acclaim for her duet with Tony saying she should release a jazz album, and countless other legends have said she can sing in any genre she wants.

Carrie wins by far imo, even though Kelly is a great vocalist.

Her voice is something special. I just prefer the tone of her voice. Kelly's tone is not really memorable IMO. I love Kelly, and she is one of the best vocalists of today, but this one is easy for me. Carrie sounds amazing in every genre she has attempted, so I don't get that people say she isn't versatile. The comment after her Alone performance proves it. The fact that she has recorded a song with Aerosmith proves it. The song with Tony Bennett proves it.

Yes, she does sound country in most songs she has covered. But the fact that she can put her on twist on it, and yet completely nail the song, makes it even more awesome.

I love her voice so much.
