To be fair, I don't think they ever aimed for the "Girl Next Door" theme. The media started to call her that during Breakaway when her image and personality started to shine bright. Kelly has the whole "We can be best friends in no time" kind of energy around her.

Katy Perry kinda has the same thing going on. She blew up and now everyone is calling her the new girl next door.

Taylor Swift is the girl next door in country, but her label did aim for that.

Yeah that's true, but on her tour, there's always a display in the background saying "Girl next door", and it was just really weird seeing that at her show because she has become more mature now. It's trivial, I know..but it just seemed out of place and awkward for a mature woman even though she's down to earth and humble

Those were things the media all said about Kelly and she didn't like it. That Stronger intro was a big **** you to the haters. I think you got the concept wrong.

I will never understand how people are comfortable wearing such big clothes. Her shirts and jackets are always 2-5 sizes to big. It's annoying because it makes her look a lot bigger then she is, and big clothes aren't flattering at all.

Went to the free Microsoft opening concert tonight! So awesome OMG. I've never been so close at a Kelly concert before. She looked gorgeous in her blonde hair and smoky-eye make-up. She basically sang a full concert (probably 80-minute set).

She sang Catch My Breath and Don't Rush. They both sounded so good live. The crowd was REALLY into it too and singing along the whole time and so loudly i could barely hear Kelly!
