No one said "Umbrella" is not iconic. It's simply that "Crazy In Love" is more iconic.

Rihanna stans are so weird. Umbrella simply made Rihanna a superstar on her third album since her previous releases from her first two albums failed to do so. That's the only remotely "iconic" thing about the record.

BET performance of CIL was referenced in an opening of the show a year after, that's how much impact it had for the comunity. Her VMA's performance was way more remembered that any Umbrella live.
