Not to mention Sandy is attacking areas that aren't used to getting hurricanes like this. A tropical depression to us is devastating enough.

I still don't understand why its a Cat 1 but its dubbed the "Frakenstorm" and why the media is hyping it up so badly. The Northeast has been hit by far more powerful hurricanes scale-wise.

It's mainly the pattern it followed and size. Hurricanes never go right > right > SWOOP LEFT > Go inland > back right
> & up into canada

IDK though, it's supposed to hit Toronto, and the last time a hurricane actually got hear while still being category 1 was in 1954. This storm's got longevity.
