They either retire/trade fields, flop into oblivion, or a very few of them continue their success.
Not many can last, let alone remain successful. And the fact that she gets compared to people who have been here less than half as long than she has, well that says something.

I mean I know she is not as huge as before , thats obvious .... but I don't like when people say she hasn't done anything since 2007.

Perfectly said. It's amazing that she is still able to compete with the "current" girls.
People here think that katy, ke$ha, gaga, rihanna are all legends, fact is they are not! They are just "current", in style, the trend. When they last as long as Britney then maybe they will be icons/legeds.

For a dance track, it’s basically stripped down. The second chorus should have been rather mid-tempo, a mix of the first and the final chorus.
It didn’t do as well as expected simply because it’s not catchy.

On the contrary, I think that the second chorus is just different enough than the first to make it enjoyable to listen to. I think that the second chorus' backing vocals (it almost sounds like screaming/pleading) really adds to the emotion of the song and expresses how strong her desire is, and the thumping beat during the second half of the chorus from "cause you feel..." onwards is just enough so that it doesn't sound stale and keeps progressing without being terrible & inconsistent overkill. It leads very well into the breakdown. I think that is was executed very well, and the 2,811 plays in my iTunes dare not contest that

For me the second chorus is the best one ... and the reason I like it so much is because of that thmping beat during the second chorus that you're mentioning .... that part was like flawlesss....

I agree .... I was a few mintunes ago in a thread about "Rihanna being the new princess of pop" (it was closed).... , and we the Brit stans were defending Britney and even the other stanbases were saying Britney was the princess..
... but the Rihanna stans were very aggressive and they were brutal towards Britney .... they think Rihanna is literally the second most successful female artist behind Madonna "seriously" no kidding , and they think Rihanna is bigger than Lady Gaga and I was like WTF?

I didn't mean to flame anyone else in my comment, especially since I genuinely love all those other artists including especially Rihanna. It's just that time is so important in a place where you get replaced in a heartbeat. When looking at the big picture, Britney is not in the same league time-wise as most of the artists discussed here.

It's what I always say. The fact that they are naming her, and taking time to drag her, it means she's still relevant. Real has-beens arent even mentioned here.

I mean why not talk about her soft and seductive vocals in the underrated When Your Eyes Says say it, or the cultural impact of the iconic Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman, or how Autumn Goodbye ***** on discographies.
But no, we talk about how Blackout is her opus, or how In The Zone is her opus, or how Blackout is better than In The Zone, or how In The Zone is better than Blackout, or how Femme Fatale is generic, and Circus is better, or how Circus is terrible and Femme Fatale is better, or how Hold It Against Me didn't deserve to flop and how Till The World Ends was maybe/not really/yes really better than Hold It Against Me.....or rants about makeup/hair/wardrobe.
This woman has had a nearly 15 year career, yet you wouldn't know it with the same conversation happening everyday. This thread is getting a little boring..that's all I meant by it.

How is that different from discussing Blackout, In The Zone, Circus and Femme Fatale?
I'll say WYESI is the best song on OIDIA, another stan will say I'm delusional, and claim Lucky is, and on and on and on.

I admit that I barely come in this thread, and when I do, it's when Britney's getting busy again. I can't even talk albums because the only album I own is Femme Fatale and she has 6 other albums I haven't listened to in good quality.

Because the show is flopping with poor ratings. That's why they are endin it faster than what most of us expected.

There are always 12 acts, 3 for each judges.
They usually add more to have a Wild Card round and eliminate like that, for the shock.

They ARE her best albums though. Nobody talks about Madonna, Like a Virgin, and True Blue when discussing Madonna's work. They talk about the true groundbreaking albums.
