The album was originally made up of dozens of side projects, and it shows. The mashed eclecticism throughout the entire album is jarring, yet effective. Prince proves his superhuman talent by the juxtaposition of morbid imagery, creative and inventive musicianship, and some of the most effective singing of his entire career. The album's diversity is a feat of mankind.
