I think she just wants to know when it is time to make a graceful exit and explore other things. I guess only time will tell what happens and what her career will evolve into.

I think this is possible too. Like when Dolly knew her mainstream success was over so she just made music for what remained of her fanbase and not for actual major album sales or single sales. This was when she started her own record label so maybe Tay will do the same. She'll also have more time to focus on her own life then and do more films or whatever she feels like doing without the pressure of the label head telling her to sell this or that amount or your done.

Its understandable though- shes huge right now and its easy to see how she wiuld be afraid of it all ending. I wonder what her measure of success is though? Does it have to mean #1 singles, multi platinum albums, massive scale tours? Or would she be content with less? Because the size and scope of the fanbase she's created is very hard to maintain longterm. Pop is fickle and she might be the hot thing this year but two years from now who knows. Does she equate success to mainstream/commercial success? if her next album only sells 500,000 does she hang it up?
If she had dialed it back a bit between fearless/speak now or speak now/red and tempered the fame a bit would she have been happier? I mean she should have a long career, she's so young and talented, but she rose so high fast that the descent might be fast and steep as well. If she had gone on a more even trajectory - not crossed over, went a little more folk/acoustic etc, led a more lowkey life - woukd she feel the same way?
She probably wants to end her career on her terms and still be successful. I just hope her idea of successful has more definitions than "hot 100, top 40 etc etc, million debut"

Whoa wall of text.
For the teal deer out there - I'm saying her bar is set really high right now. It's hard for her to maintain this level of fame. But she could have a very successful career at a smaller scale for a very long time, but would she think if that as failure in comparison to her current success?
I guess it's like...two one million debut weeks or 10 200k debut weeks? :/ IDK I can see why she's scared and why she talks about that. For her next album she should just say **** it all to radio airplay, digital sales, album sales, touring $$$$ and make the music she wants to make without those pressures.

She didn't say anything about those... It seems she's doing a US leg from March 2013 through September 2013, and then go overseas after that... And maybe do another short US leg in 2014.

Very. Just wondering if she's regretting this whole cross-over thing a bit. But for real, with Red only few tunes that are super-pop, the rest are her usual stuffs with a mix of outside influence. It's not THAT bad tbh. The whole album sans 6 tracks max are still 'her' Just give it a spin asap sis.
And I honestly see that she just doesn't give a **** anymore as an artist. I applaud her for that. Rather that trying to please others.
Different thing if we want to talk about Scotty B. & her friends from pop world.
