They never predicted 900K after the album was out though.
They predicted 900K BEFORE it was released, just like how 700K was predicted for Teenage Dream and 100K for Carly's album - both of which failed to reach those numbers. After it had been released the prediction was always 1 Million+.

That's absolutely not true. The first prediction after one day of sales was 600K+. In fact, they never gave a prediction that faithfully said she would clear a million. Only towards the very end of the week did they say that she had a good chance at 1M+

I'm talking about 'Red' not 'Speak Now'.

I think Captain is talking about Red. Not Speak Now.

Oh, sorry, I don't know how I misunderstood the quote.

I just went to Wal-Mart to get the special edition one and they are completely sold out of all copies of every version. What the hell?

It just keeps getting higher and higher. Still resisting my urge to purchase it until next week. I don't accidentally want to be apart of history. Stay loyal.

I don't know why people think this way, 1 Million+ debuts, have always been elusive, in the 80's, 90's, 00's, and now. It didn't matter how strong the industry was, it was never common. Out of the thousands of albums released, only 17 have done it, with 5 of them being within the last 10 years.
Not saying Taylor's is not impressive, she may do it for a second time, but I don't think "when" it happen makes it "more impressive".

Right.
It's so annoying when people act like it was SO easy to debut with 1 Million back in those days when Britney was the first female artist to do it and has held her record for 12 years now.

As I told someone after Justin released his album, not every major artist was doing 1M units units back when Britney was hot. It was unusual then. It's just a bit more unusual now because of the digital era, but it's still reachable with the right promo.

I'm scared, not gonna lie . I don't want her to break the record but i am happy she's finding all of this success even though her style/music changed a bit. Her fanbase is LOYAL!

While I agree that it was never easy, 6 albums did it that year alone.

Exactly ....
Taylor sales are impressive but that doesn't mean Britney's are not impressive
curiously there are more +1M seller debuts (among females) in recent years than before around 1999 / 2000.
and Britney's record could be the most impressive because even back then in 2000 , 2001, etc and after 12 years no other female has been able to break the record yet.
I mean If it was so easy to sell back in that time ... then why no one broke the record? there were a lot of solid women in music back then.
Britney's record is just epic.
