I will be surprised if he makes the cut for the album. His music has never been that great. BR and PF are just gems. He hasn't done anything that good since...

Part of what you say I get, but what if RedOne ends up producing Rihanna's "Bad Romance"?

He's cute and all, but he needs to stay away from this album. This is a new sound, not dated.

New sound? Haven't you talked about RedOne?

A mixture of RnB/Pop fused with hints of Reggae. ALA What's My Name, You Da One, Watch n' Learn, Te Amo, Sell Me Candy, Say It, We Ride.

Urban pop, if that makes sense?
I mean I think of TTT a little bit as a continuation of loud, which had primarily pop influences with some dance...I honestly don't think unapologetic will be drastically different from what we've already heard from her. I can see her dipping into house, but I'm really not sure.
I'm really hoping there will be a lot of songs like diamonds

Guys Rihanna has never really done a DANCE album though...each album has had like maybe 2-4 songs that were dance. TTT had two, WFL and WHYB...I hope this new album has more... LOUD has two. S&M and OG, Rated R..hmm..none? RB wasn't really dance...and GGGB had Disturbia, DSTM, PUOM

A lot of people would say it is the more reggae influenced songs. From the people I come in contact with, a lot of them seem to love her debut (single ), Rube Boy and What's My Name.

Though I guess her signature NOW is Dance Music, she really has taken the title of Dance Queen. I mean.... SOS, Disturbia, Don't Stop The Music, Only Girl, S&M, WFL, WHYB.

Well her roots are reggae/dancehall but that was only two albums right? She started to abandon that style with GGGB, even though she had hints of it with her next albums (man down, you da one, etc)
We should get at least one reggae track on unapologetic

Nah..not really. Those songs are from separate albums...and each album has about 2-4 dance oriented songs. I hope this new album has more....I got tired of playing WFL and WHYB over and over to get my "dance" Rihanna haha!

I still don't see any Urban in Diamonds at all. Obviously the radio DJs do or they're simply thirsty for a Rihanna Urban hit. Can't blame them tbh.

This release is listed as "MERCURY/DEF JAM" in AllMusicGuide as oppossed to "ISLAND/DEF JAM".
Maybe TTT was really the last album in her contract, and she re-signed with another label from the same umbrella (pun intended), but that's much bigger in the UK (where she slays the most).
