Why does everyone think that if they are portrayed with Caucasian features that automatically makes it not racist? The thing that bothers me most about the entire ensemble is that the woman herself is an amalgam of all the features that racist Americans drew up when slavery was still acceptable. The flat nose, the big lips, the pitch black skin, and (in the case of the earrings) the facial structure that resembles that of an ape.

Um sis, not really. Def not in Bey's case. To hear her and that magazine tell it, Bey's skin was darkened so she would look more "African" . . . cuz that's how you look "African" by darkening your skin and wearing clothes designed by Europeans. It was supposedly some tribute to Fela Kuti or whatever.
