I decided to give some of the classics a good listening for this, and this one surprised me. How did I miss out on Legend Janet all this time?! But really, this album is really cool, well-produced, well-written, progressive, catchy, live-giving, etc. etc. I'm really into it. I think it's extremely cool that it's the album where she truly took full creative control and pulled so many influences and pulled them off perfectly. Reminds me of [Outkast’s] “Stankonia” in a way, the way it hops around all these influences but stays R&B.
